Publication number: 20050030980Abstract: A set of interfaces and data structures (i.e., a demultiplexer API) for representing a demultiplexer of multimedia data is presented. The data structure utilizes a number of fields, each containing an element of a command. In one embodiment, at least seven commands are formed for proper operation of the demultiplexer, including Initialize, SetPresentationDescriptor, GetPresentationDescriptor, GetPendingPresentationDescriptor, ProcessInput, ProcessOutput, and Flush commands. The demultiplexer API allows the consumer to use muxed stream data such as DV in a uniform manner to generate elementary stream data such as audio and video (compressed or uncompressed) and allows demultiplexers to be used as an independent component.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2003Publication date: February 10, 2005Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Kirt Debique, Robin Speed, C. Patent number: 5089052Abstract: A method for emulsification of rock asphalt, the resulting low asphalt emulsion and low asphalt emulsion binder for aggregate is disclosed. Fine mesh rock asphalt is emulsified by using a hydrocarbon fluxing agent to sufficiently wet the rock asphalt to produce a fluid mixture, followed by addition of water, small amounts of surfactant and salts, heating the fluid mix while the mixture is being gently stirred. The rock asphalt emulsion can be formed from rock asphalts having low asphalt content, as low as 5, 6, or 7% by weight and greater. Depending on the rock asphalt ore source, the emulsion is comprised of varying amounts of hydrocarbon fluxing oils which are present in sufficient volume to form a fluid mix, from less than about 25% to greater than matching parts by volume of water, and lesser amounts of surfactants and salts. These emulsions have been found to be effective as binders for limestone aggregate coatings, seal, coats, pliable mats and other surprising applications.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1989Date of Patent: February 18, 1992Inventor: Allen C. Patent number: 4921225Abstract: A transversely mounted, single pneumatic spring, and dual bell crank and idler link assembly providing a compact counterbalance for hinged closures such as automobile trunk lids. Pneumatic spring enhancements, e.g., a multi-output force feature and a pressure decay compensation feature may be incorporated in the spring unit to enhance opening of the lid and to improve life expectancy of the pneumatic spring by minimizing and effectively negating pressure loss due to leakage of the gas past the shaft seal. Excess spring cylinder length can provide space of volume zones used for the enhancement features. Structure which provides a multiple output force for the pneumatic spring, utilizes positioning of the spring shaft end bushing and seal to vary the working volume by changing effective cross-section area of the piston shaft near the end of a compression stroke. The extra cylinder length enables a sealed partition wall to separate extra volume and the operative volume part of the cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1989Date of Patent: May 1, 1990Assignee: Maremont CorporationInventor: George C. Ludwig

Patent number: 4788747Abstract: A transversely mounted, single pneumatic spring, and dual bell crank and idler link assembly providing a compact counterbalance for hinged closures such as automobile trunk lids. In an automobile trunk installation, the assembly is installed with the spring in lateral disposition in the forward upper portion of the trunk, thus being effectively concealed. Alternative pneumatic spring enhancements, e.g., a multi-output force feature and a pressure decay compensation feature may be incorporated in the spring unit to enhance opening of the lid and to improve life expectancy of the pneumatic spring by minimizing and effectively negating pressure loss due to leakage of gas past the shaft seal. Excess spring cylinder length can provide space or volume zones used for the enhancement features.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1986Date of Patent: December 6, 1988Assignee: AVM, Inc.Inventor: George C. Patent number: 4768895Abstract: A captive ball in a socket joint made with a minimum number of units capable of mass production and readily assembled with minimum labor. The ball and socket structure enables easy connection of the ball component to a machine element via open access to the ball component for a power driven tool, such as a pneumatic, rotary driver. The socket unit is a single unitary lug-shaped stamping made from flat sheet metal in which a socket recess with a spherical bottom is stamped or formed with a slotted aperture therethrough. The ball unit is a single unitary screw the head of which is ball-shaped and includes an integral drive device in the ball head. The screw-threaded shank of the ball unit projects through the socket unit aperture with the ball-head received in the socket recess. The slotted aperture permits universal swiveling movement of the ball unit relative to the socket unit. A nut, on the ball unit renders the ball unit captive in the socket unit.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1987Date of Patent: September 6, 1988Assignee: AVM, Inc.Inventors: George C. Ludwig, Alexander J. Craig, Jr.

Patent number: 4659341Abstract: An abrasive frit is disclosed comprising particles of a silicon nitride based material. The particles have essentially sharp edges and a particle size within the range of from about 0.5 to about 150 microns. An abrasive frit is disclosed as described above except that the edges of the particles are essentially smooth. A method is disclosed for producing a abrasive frit of silicon nitride based material. The method involves forming a body of silicon nitride based material, firing the body at a sufficient temperature for a sufficient time to form a relatively low density body which is then crushed to form fragmented material a portion of which comprises essentially sharp edged particles in the above given size range, followed by separating the particles from the balance of the fragmented material. At this point the sharp edged particles can be either polished to produce essentially smooth edges particles or left as is.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1985Date of Patent: April 21, 1987Assignee: GTE Products CorporationInventors: David C. Patent number: 4570912Abstract: A pneumatic spring counterbalance extensible link including a closed end cylinder with an end connector, a piston and rod assembly within the cylinder and maintained therein by the crimped over end portion of the cylinder retaining a rod bushing and rod to cylinder seal assembly. The cylinder is pressurized preferably prior to assembly of the bushing and seal assembly into the cylinder. The piston assembly includes an effective check valve and orifice by-pass structure for metered gas flow past the piston in one direction and free flow past the piston in the other direction of piston movement. A small predetermined amount of oil is contained in the cylinder and provides lubrication for the seals and piston and provides a damping effect at the end of the extension stroke. A standpipe sleeve is secured on the piston extending toward the seal assembly around the piston rod and controls disposition of the oil to assure damping at the end of the extension stroke.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 1982Date of Patent: February 18, 1986Assignee: AVM, Inc.Inventors: Daniel P. Dodson, George C. Ludwig
