  • Patent number: 10746697
Abstract: A method of employing an eddy current sensor to perform an inspection of a tube of a steam generator involves accelerating and decelerating the eddy current sensor in a predetermined fashion that substantially reduces the likelihood of damage to the eddy current sensor. The reduction of probe stresses reduces radiological waste and reduces radiation exposure to workers involved in changing damaged probes The recording of an eddy current signal at each of a plurality of equally spaced apart locations along the tube permits the velocity of the eddy current sensor to be varied without compromising the validity of the data that has been recorded. The inspection system employs an encoder that outputs a series of signals as the probe is advanced incremental distances within the tube of the steam generator, and eddy current sensor signals are recorded responsive to at least some of the signals from the encoder.

  • Patent number: 10619796
Abstract: A protective cover for medical gas canisters includes a membrane that serves as a physical barrier to cross-contamination of biohazards in healthcare settings. An opening allows for insertion of the canister, and perforated access points that are permeable to gas provide access to valves. Sterilizing material in the access points help disinfect valves. The top of includes slack so that the membrane does not tear when handles and knobs are grasped and manipulated. A visual alignment marker indicates proper rotational alignment of the perforated access point with valves. The membrane is see-through so labels and gauges remain viewable. Elastic bands help provide a tight fit about the canister. A user slips the membrane over a canister, rotationally aligning the visual alignment marker with a valve, and connects a hose to a valve through the access point such that the perforated access point forms a seal over the valve.

  • Patent number: 10592421
Abstract: Instructions and logic provide advanced paging capabilities for secure enclave page caches. Embodiments include multiple hardware threads or processing cores, a cache to store secure data for a shared page address allocated to a secure enclave accessible by the hardware threads. A decode stage decodes a first instruction specifying said shared page address as an operand, and execution units mark an entry corresponding to an enclave page cache mapping for the shared page address to block creation of a new translation for either of said first or second hardware threads to access the shared page. A second instruction is decoded for execution, the second instruction specifying said secure enclave as an operand, and execution units record hardware threads currently accessing secure data in the enclave page cache corresponding to the secure enclave, and decrement the recorded number of hardware threads when any of the hardware threads exits the secure enclave.

  • Patent number: 10545846
Abstract: A method and associated systems for identifying and correcting suboptimal storage-reclamation processes. A storage-management system uses information received in system-generated storage-reclamation reports to assign each user a set of reclamation scores. Each score identifies how effectively the user has been able to reclaim lost storage at particular times. These scores are organized into user-specific profiles that each consists of a chronological sequence of one user's scores. If a user's profile is “good” (that is, if the user's scores are consistently high) or “improving” (if scores are increasing over time), the system then determines whether that user's reclamation efforts have successfully reduced the amount of reclaimable storage controlled by the user. If not, the system infers that a suboptimal storage-reclamation process interfered with the user's reclamation efforts. The system then undertakes corrective action to identify and resolve the cause of the suboptimal process.

  • Patent number: 10547537
Abstract: In some examples, a controller for a network includes a path computation module that determines, for a plurality of LSPs or other flows having a common source, shortest paths of the network from the common source to respective destinations of the plurality of LSPs based at least on a minimum bandwidth. The path computation module further determines, after determining the shortest paths, a shortest path for the LSP of the plurality of LSPs as the shortest path of the shortest paths of the network from the common source to a destination for the LSP. A path provisioning module of the controller, after the path computation module determines the shortest path for the LSP and in response to the path computation modules routing the LSP to the shortest path for the LSP on a network model of the network, installs the LSP to the network as routed to the shortest path.
