  • Patent number: 11452448
Abstract: A system for determination of intraocular pressure includes: an intraocular pressure sensor; a light source illuminating the sensor with one or more wavelengths of light; and a detector that measures emitted light from the sensor. The sensor includes a substrate member, a spacer member, and a flexible membrane, which define a sealed cavity. The flexible membrane moves in response to intraocular pressure changes. A device for measuring intraocular pressure includes: the sensor; an anchoring member attached to the sensor for immobilizing the sensor in an eye; and a protective member attached to the anchoring member and covering the sensor to prevent contact between the flexible membrane and the eye. A method for determination of intraocular pressure includes: placing the sensor in an eye; illuminating, with a light source, the sensor with one or more wavelengths of light; and detecting, with a detector, a resultant light that contains information about intraocular pressure.

  • Patent number: 11448055
Abstract: A subsea pump includes a liquid-gas inlet port for receiving liquid and gas into a first chamber, a plunger in a second chamber, a suction valve communicating the first chamber with a second chamber, a gas discharge conduit, a gas discharge valve communicating the first chamber with the gas discharge conduit, and a liquid discharge port for discharging liquid from the second chamber. The plunger retracts inwardly to create a vacuum in the second chamber that opens the suction valve and pulls liquid from the first chamber into the second chamber. The plunger extends outwardly against the suction to cause the suction valve to close and create a positive pressure that opens the gas discharge valve and forces the gas in the first chamber through the gas discharge valve into the gas discharge conduit. Liquid in the second chamber is discharged through the liquid discharge port via the positive pressure.

  • Patent number: 11358580
Abstract: A system for identifying whether the braking system of a train is functioning properly such as during a train terminal test. A monitor on a rail car is used to detect abnormalities in the braking system and can report problems to a handheld terminal or a central controller in the locomotive. The monitor has a pressure sensor for measuring brake pipe pressure, auxiliary reservoir pressure, emergency reservoir pressure, and brake cylinder pressure at the rail car. The monitor also has a controller that can calculate whether brake pipe reduction resulted in the appropriate amount of brake cylinder pressure. The monitor can then provide the results locally via a visual indicator or remotely to a handheld terminal used by a train inspector or the controller in the locomotive. Testing data over time may be stored for future reference or transmitted remotely to assist with maintenance and service scheduling.

  • Publication number: 20220143477
Abstract: A golf club comprises a shaft, a club head, and a connection assembly that allows the shaft to be easily disconnected from the club head. In particular embodiments, the connection assembly includes a removable hosel sleeve that allows a shaft to be supported a desired predetermined orientation relative to the club head. In this manner, the shaft loft and/or lie angle of the club can be adjusted without resorting to traditional bending of the shaft. In another embodiment, the club head has an adjustable sole that can be adjusted upwardly and downwardly relative to the strike face of the club head, which is effective to adjust the face angle of the club head.

  • Patent number: RE49191
Abstract: A computer controlled locomotive brake (CCB) configured for setting and releasing the retainer valves of the railcars of a train. The CCB may initially recharge the brake pipe to a pressure slightly less than the retainer valve release pressure. The CCB may then continue charging to this level until the brake pipe flow, measured at the CCB on the controlling locomotive and the brake pipe pressure on the last car, as measured by an end of train device, indicate that the pressure in the braking system reservoirs are substantively equal to the brake pipe pressure. Once the reservoirs are substantively charged, the CCB may complete the brake release and recharge by recharging the brake pipe pressure to its final charge so that all retainer valves are released and the train has sufficient braking system recharge to safely control movement of the train.
