Patent number: 9519716Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for conducting a profile based search. The method and system includes receiving a search request including one or more search terms from a user, parsing the search request into categorical verticals, determining search refinement data relative to the categorical verticals, the search refinement data including at least one of: profile information, environmental data relative to the search request and historical behavior data relating to the search request or the user and accessing a database of aggregated search data based on the search refinement data. The method and system includes using the aggregated search data, determining a most relevant search query and a most relevant user profile, refining the search request based on the most relevant search query and most relevant user profile and generating an output display of a search result set based on the refined search request.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2009Date of Patent: December 13, 2016Assignee: EXCALIBUR IP, LLCInventors: Athellina Athsani, M. Publication number: 20160321837Abstract: In one aspect, computing device(s) may determine a plurality of fragments for a three-dimensional (3D) model of a geographical location. Each fragment of the plurality of fragments may correspond to a pixel of a blended image and each fragment has a fragment color from the 3D model. The one or more computing devices may determine geospatial location data for each fragment based at least in part on latitude information, longitude information, and altitude information associated with the 3D model. For each fragment of the plurality of fragments, the one or more computing devices may identify a pixel color and an image based at least in part on the geospatial location data, determine a blending ratio based on at least one of a position and an orientation of a virtual camera, and generate the blended image based on at least the blending ratio, the pixel color, and the fragment color.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2016Publication date: November 3, 2016Inventors: Scott Edward Dillard, Evan Hardesty Parker, Michael Cameron Jones

Publication number: 20160008725Abstract: A sleeping bag system has the appearance of a stuffed character when not in use as a sleeping bag and includes a torso including a torso compartment therein, a first limb having a first arm compartment therein which is in connection with the torso compartment, a second limb having a second arm compartment therein which is in connection with the torso compartment, at least a third limb having at least a first leg compartment therein which is in connection with the torso compartment. The sleeping bag system further includes an opening in the torso providing access to the torso compartment from outside of the sleeping bag system and an item removably storable in the torso compartment which is adapted to provide stability to the sleeping bag system such that the sleeping bag system can sit upright without support when not in use as a sleeping bag.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 26, 2014Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventor: Cameron Jones

Publication number: 20150335985Abstract: A design for snowsports devices such as skis and snowboards uses non-Newtonian materials. Non-Newtonian materials exhibit rate-sensitive characteristics, with stress vs. strain properties dependent on the rate of loading. The snowsports device with non-Newtonian materials has variable stiffness and damping, with both increasing according to an increased applied load-rate such that a single snowsports device exhibits soft flex characteristics under low applied load-rates, but stiffer flex characteristics under high applied load-rates. The flex of the snowsports device is self-adjusting, with no manual adjustment input required by a user. The non-Newtonian material may be incorporated into the structure of the snowsports device in a number of different ways, including in the core, in composite sheet layers, and other locations.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 26, 2013Publication date: November 26, 2015Inventors: Cyrus Schenck, Cameron Jones, Gregory Bright

Patent number: 8788346Abstract: Advertisements displayed in a web page are enabled to be changed as a context of the web page changes without reloading the web page. A first set of one or more advertisements may be displayed on a web page. One or more of the displayed advertisements may be replaced with one or more alternative advertisements. Selection of the alternative advertisements is triggered based on the occurrence of one or more events that cause a change in a context of the web page. The display of the alternative advertisements is performed dynamically, without the web page needing to be reloaded. In this manner, the advertisements displayed on a web page may be changed based on the change in web page context, to provide advertisements to users that correspond to the changing context.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2013Date of Patent: July 22, 2014Assignee: Yahoo! Patent number: 8775945Abstract: Techniques for displaying advertisements on web pages are provided. A revisitation rate for views of a web page by a user population is determined. A refresh rate for an advertisement space on the web page is synchronized with the determined revisitation rate. An advertisement is selected to be displayed at the advertisement space at a particular refresh time of the synchronized refresh rate. The advertisement is selected based at least on a difference between a content of the web page at the particular refresh time and a content of the web page at a previous refresh time of the synchronized refresh rate.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2009Date of Patent: July 8, 2014Assignee: Yahoo!
