  • Publication number: 20210100917
Abstract: The invention relates generally to a method of treatment for a human genetic disease, such as diseases characterized by unbalanced nucleotide pools, e.g., mitochondrial DNA depletion syndromes, and more specifically, thymidine kinase 2 (TK2) deficiency, using gene therapy. The gene therapy may involve administration of one or more constructs, such as a viral vector, containing a nucleic acid encoding a functional protein. The functional protein may correspond to a nuclear gene. For treatment of TK2 deficiency, the gene therapy may involve administration of one or more constructs, such as a viral vector, containing a nucleic acid encoding a functional TK2 enzyme. The treatment may also involve the administration of pharmacological therapy in conjunction with the gene therapy.

  • Publication number: 20210081187
Abstract: When executed by one or more processors in a computer system, an application program may provide, to an electronic device, image information that specifies a user interface for display on the electronic device, and may receive, from the electronic device, information that specifies user-interface activity of the user. Furthermore, when executed by the one or more processors, the modification program may identify a state of the application program. Then, the modification program may selectively modify the image information based on the identified state to change the user interface without changing source code for the application program or a compiled executable of the application program, and may provide the modified image information to the electronic device for display. Subsequently, based on information that specifies a user-interface activity of the user that is associated with the modified user interface, the modification program may selectively perform an operation.

  • Patent number: 10838523
Abstract: A touch screen device includes a display screen having a touch surface, an input knob, and a microcontroller programmed to execute a method. The knob has a stationary member with conductive base pads facing the surface and a moveable member. The knob lacks a direct electrical connection to the surface. The microcontroller receives encoder signals as the moveable member moves with respect to the stationary member, with the signals being indicative of discrete touch events between the moveable member and the screen, e.g., via an intervening switch. The microcontroller processes the encoder signals to determine a direction of movement of the knob, and derives a true position of a center point of the knob using a position of each of the base pads. The microcontroller then controls an operation of the touch screen device.
