  • Publication number: 20110110286
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for a proxy mobile Internet protocol (PMIP) supporting a dedicated multicast local mobility anchor (LMA) and mobile access gateway (MAG) is provided. The LMA assigns an Internet Protocol (IP) address to a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) that processes the IP address and sends a router solicitation message to a serving MAG. A WTRU is disclosed to receive a first IP address that is for unicast service and a second IP address that is for multicast services. Generally, the method and apparatus proposes architecture, interfaces, and procedures to enable multicast mobility using Proxy Mobile IP. More specifically operations of aggregated PMIP tunnels for multicast services are described. Multicast mobility is enabled when mobile nodes move from one MAG to another MAG, intra-LMA, and inter-LMA. And, Multicast mobility is enabled between bidirectional network and downlink only multicast network in a hybrid network.

  • Publication number: 20110064050
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a broadcast service via a broadcast system. The broadcast service may be handed over from the broadcast system to a second broadcast system, and the WTRU may receive the broadcast service via the second broadcast system. The WTRU and/or the broadcast system may change broadcast service configuration parameters (such as video encapsulation format, video codec, frame rate, audio codec) to receive and/or display broadcast service data received via the second broadcast system. Additionally, a WTRU may receive a broadcast service via a broadcast system that includes more than one broadcast transmission network. The broadcast service may be handed over from a first broadcast transmission network in the broadcast system to a second broadcast transmission network in the broadcast system. The WTRU may change broadcast service configuration parameters to receive and/or display broadcast service data received via the second broadcast transmission network.

  • Patent number: 7869378
Abstract: A method and apparatus for communicating slot allocations of nodes in a wireless mesh network that has data exchanges between the nodes occurring during slots. Each node maintains internal tracking of its slot allocation. A node may request a slot allocation of another node, and each node is enabled to report its slot allocation to other nodes. An information element (IE) and management type messages are introduced for tracking and reporting slot allocations among mesh network nodes.

  • Publication number: 20100302968
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for communication access technology management. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may evaluate end-to-end connection performance by sending a connection ECHO message and receiving a connection ECHO response. The connection performance may be evaluated for a connection including multiple transmission paths, and for multiple connections. The WTRU may establish or modify a multihoming communication session with a mobility server using a plurality of connections. Each connection may be established using a different interface.

  • Publication number: 20100284291
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may include a media application that receives data from a media server via a link on a downlink (DL) -only radio access network. The link on the DL-only radio access network may be handed over to a second DL-only radio access network. A mobility management server, such as a Media Independent Handover (MIH) server, may communicate with the WTRU via a second radio access network that is a bidirectional radio access network to facilitate the handover. MIH messages may include fields that relate to DL-only radio access technologies may be used to facilitate handover of a DL-only link. Further, MIH broadcast or multicast messages may be used to facilitate the handover of a DL-only link.

  • Publication number: 20090238143
Abstract: A method and apparatus are used to perform a Circuit Switched (CS) fallback in wireless communications. The Non-Access Stratum (NAS) of the apparatus determines whether to perform a CS fallback based on an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) registration status, and sends a service request indicating a request to perform the CS fallback when the WTRU is attached to a CS domain. The apparatus also includes an Access Stratum (AS) that receives the CS service request from the NAS, sends an indication of the CS service request in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message to an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN), wherein the RRC message includes CS service information, and receives a handover command in response to the CS service request.

  • Publication number: 20090181082
Abstract: The present invention can retain the volume of a tablet large without increasing the thickness of the tablet or the like dimension and prevents a plurality of tablets from sticking to each other even if they are subjected to a film-coating or the like treatment, so as to improve the yield. The tablet is a tablet (1) longer in one direction when seen in plan. The tablet (1) has side edges (6) each of which extends in a longitudinal direction and is formed in the shape of a curve projecting outwardly in plan view. The curve has a radius of curvature (R1) set to at least 1.5 times a length (L) of the tablet. This makes a projected area of the tablet (1) in plan view at least 97% with respect to a projected area of a standard elliptical tablet having opposite end portions each of which is formed by a semi-circle having a diameter of a width (W) of the tablet.

  • Publication number: 20080123660
Abstract: Each of a plurality of packets in a particular flow is classified into one of a plurality of quality of service (QoS) classes based on information about each packet. Each packet is then adaptively processed based on the QoS class for each packet. The classification may be performed based on media information included in a session description protocol (SDP) messaging. The classification may also be performed based on a real-time transmit protocol (RTP) payload, an RTP header, a transmission control protocol (TCP) header, a user datagram protocol (UDP) header, and an Internet protocol (IP) header. The packets may be transmitted using multiple system architecture evolution (SAE) radio bearers each of which is used to deliver differentiated QoS requirements. The packets may be mapped to eigen-modes based on the QoS class of each packet such that a packet requiring a higher level of QoS is mapped to a stronger eigen-mode.
