  • Publication number: 20060154743
Abstract: A golf club head includes a golf club head body having a connecting groove and a filling space, and a striking plate having an annular upright bent wall and a connecting end. In assembling, the connecting end of the annular upright bent wall of the striking plate is initially inserted into the connecting groove of the golf club head body so that an intensified structure is provided. The filling space of the golf club head body is further filled with a braze material. In brazing, the braze material contained in the filling space of the golf club head body is melted and thus filled within a clearance between the connecting groove of the golf club head body and the connecting end of the striking plate to form a welded layer.

  • Publication number: 20050261081
Abstract: A golf club head includes a casing with a front open end to which a striking plate is attached through a layer of brazing material that is formed between a rear surface of the striking plate and a frontmost end face of the casing. One of the striking plate and the front open end of the casing has an extension part which projects outward in a direction away from the opening. The extension part forms a shoulder with one of the first and second outer peripheral faces. During a brazing process, the brazing material is positioned against the shoulder externally of a clearance between the rear surface and the frontmost end face and is then melted to flow into the clearance through a capillary action.

  • Publication number: 20050258217
Abstract: A method of making a golf club head is disclosed. A striking plate is attached to a front open end of a metal casing to cover an opening. The striking plate is placed over the front open end by contacting a rear surface of the striking plate with the front open end, thereby creating a clearance between the rear surface and the front open end. A brazing material is positioned on one of the rear surface and the front open end externally of and immediately adjacent the clearance. When the brazing material melts, it flows into the clearance through a capillary action, thereby forming a layer of brazing material between the rear surface and the front open end.

  • Publication number: 20050227781
Abstract: A weight member for a golf club head is made of a WMoNi alloy by powder metallurgy or a precision casting process. The WMoNi alloy includes tungsten 1-35 wt %, molybdenum 4-55 wt %, and nickel 25-95 wt %, and has a specific gravity ranging between 8.6 and 13.3. Molybdenum increases the density of the weight member and improves the rust-resisting property of the weight member. The tungsten, molybdenum, and nickel provide a uniform metallographic phase. Uniformity of polishing of the weight member is thus improved.
