Abstract: Some embodiments include an integrated structure having vertically-stacked conductive levels. Upper conductive levels are memory cell levels, and a lower conductive level is a select device level. Conductively-doped semiconductor material is under the select device level. Channel material extends along the memory cell levels and the select device level, and extends into the conductively-doped semiconductor material. A region of the channel material that extends into the conductively-doped semiconductor material is a lower region of the channel material and has a vertical sidewall. Tunneling material, charge-storage material and charge-blocking material extend along the channel material and are between the channel material and the conductive levels. The tunneling material, charge-storage material and charge-blocking material are not along at least a portion of the vertical sidewall of the lower region of the channel material, and the conductively-doped semiconductor material is directly against such portion.

  • Publication number: 20190369901
Abstract: Systems and methods enable a virtual machine, including applications executing thereon, to quickly start executing and servicing users based on pre-staged data blocks supplied from a backup copy in secondary storage. Substantially concurrently with the ongoing execution of the virtual machine, a virtual-machine-file-relocation operation moves data blocks from backup to a primary storage destination that becomes the virtual machine's primary data store after relocation completes. An enhanced data agent, operating in conjunction with an enhanced media agent in a storage management system, coordinates restoring the virtual machine and launching the relocation operation. The enhanced media agent pre-stages certain backed up data blocks based on predictive analysis pertaining to the virtual machine's operational profile. The enhanced media agent also pre-stages backed up data blocks for the relocation operation, based on the operation's relocation scheme.

  • Publication number: 20190370225
Abstract: A file server receives a request for data from a user device. The data is represented at the file server by a virtual cluster descriptor. The file server queries an identifier map using an identifier of the virtual cluster descriptor. Responsive to the identifier map indicating that the requested data is stored at a location remote from the file server, the file server accesses a cold tier translation table that stores a mapping between an identifier of each of a plurality of virtual cluster descriptors and a storage location of data associated with the respective virtual cluster descriptor. The cold tier translation table is queried using the identifier of the virtual cluster descriptor to identify a storage location of the requested data, and the data is loaded to the file server from the identified storage location.

  • Publication number: 20190362460
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a graphics processor in which dependency tracking hardware is simplified via the use of compiler provided software scoreboard information. In one embodiment the shader compiler for shader programs is configured to encode software scoreboard information into each instruction. Dependencies can be evaluated by the shader compiler and provided as scoreboard information with each instruction. The hardware can then use the provided information when scheduling instructions. In one embodiment, a software scoreboard synchronization instruction is provided to facilitate software dependency handling within a shader program. Using software to facilitate software dependency handling and synchronization can simplify hardware design, reducing the area consumed by the hardware. In one embodiment, dependencies can be evaluated by the shader compiler instead of the GPU hardware.
