  • Patent number: 10055777
Abstract: Virtual shopping parties on a peer-to-peer marketplace are facilitated. A virtual party initiated is reserved by a user of the peer-to-peer marketplace. The virtual party comprises a specific set of items available to a specific set of users during a specific time span. A theme is set for the virtual shopping party dictating parameters for whether an item can be added to the virtual shopping party. The theme also dictates parameters for who can add an item to the virtual shopping party. Invitations are sent for the virtual shopping party to the specific set of users, based on the theme. A customized feed is then presented to each of the set of users that join the virtual shopping party.

  • Patent number: 10057853
Abstract: Techniques for increasing the battery life on a mobile device by decreasing the energy consumption of the mobile device's wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) interface are described. In one embodiment, the mobile device's Wi-Fi interface is automatically disabled when the device is not engaged. When the device receives a wake up call from a server via its Cellular interface, the Wi-Fi interface is enabled if the device answers the wake up call and the Wi-Fi interface is available. Using its Wi-Fi interface, the mobile device then connects to an IP-based network via a Wi-Fi access point.

  • Publication number: 20180231611
Abstract: A machine control system and a method of detecting a current sensor malfunction include obtaining a first current signal from a first current sensor corresponding with a first phase of a multi-phase machine, obtaining a second current signal from a second current sensor corresponding with a second phase of the multi-phase machine, and obtaining a position signal indicating an angular position of a rotor of the multi-phase machine corresponding with values of the first current signal and the second current signal. A determination is made of whether the current sensor malfunction occurred in the first current sensor or the second current sensor based only on the values of the first current signal and the second current signal at four of the angular positions of the rotor.

  • Publication number: 20180231494
Abstract: An electrochemical cell for sensing gas has added mechanical support for the working electrode to prevent flexure of the working electrode due to pressure differentials. The added mechanical support includes: 1) affixing a larger area of the working electrode to the body of the cell; 2) a gas vent to a cavity of the body to equalize pressures; 3) a rigid electrolyte layer abutting a back surface of the working electrode; 4) infusing an adhesive deep into sides of the porous working electrode to enhance rigidity; 5) supporting opposing surfaces of the working electrode with the rigid package body; and 6) other techniques to make the working electrode more rigid. A bias circuit is also described that uses a controllable current source, an integrator of the varying current, and a feedback circuit for supplying a voltage to the counter electrode and a bias voltage to the reference electrode.

  • Patent number: 10048732
Abstract: Various methods and systems for implementing resource management for an infrastructure are provided. Resource management includes datacenter byproduct management interfaces, datacenter power management, datacenter operations optimization and infrastructure resource management. Resource management facilitates using and distributing physical resources, including incidental physical resources that are generated during operation of an infrastructure, based on a minimum threshold reserve of the physical resource associated with the operating the infrastructure. Resource management can include controlling an amount of the physical resource that is generated and an amount the physical resource that is reserved. The minimum threshold reserve in combination with the control over generating and reserving the physical resource help identify an allocable amount of the physical resource. Physical resources of an infrastructure are quantified to support resource management.
