  • Publication number: 20180220478
Abstract: Devices and methods of using a reduced complexity network protocol are generally described. An evolved NodeB (eNB) transmits an Attach Request to a mobility management entity (MME), which transmits a Create Session Request for transmission of non-IP (NIP) data of user equipment (UE) to a Packet Data Network (P-GW). The P-GW in response transmits a Create Session Response, with the UE ID if originating at the P-GW and free from a UE IP address and an Up Link Traffic Flow Template, to the MME, which transmits an Attach Accept to the eNB and UE. A UE identifier (UE ID) either originates at the UE and is transmitted in the Attach Request, or is generated by the eNB, MME or P-GW. The NIP data has a tunneling NIP data packet with a NIP header with the UE ID and a NIP user data packet free from TCP/IP encapsulation and header compression.

  • Patent number: 10038936
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for source device detection. Source device detection may be performed for a variety of types of connectors such as cables or board/substrate connectors across which a DC voltage or stable presence signal is normally supplied during connections when the power signal of the connector is not present. An alternating power source is coupled to a capacitor of known capacitance via a switch. The capacitor is in series with an effective capacitance of a sink device, a connector, and a source device. When the switch is open, the voltage between the capacitor and the effective capacitor is read to determine if a source device is present and On, and when closed, if the source device is present and Off or in Stand-By, or not present. The methods, systems, and apparatuses described include tunability for the capacitor based on temperature and effective capacitance variations.

  • Patent number: 10036774
Abstract: An integrated circuit device has at least one environment-hardened die and at least one less-environment-hardened die. Environment-hardened circuitry on the environment-hardened die is more resistant to the degradation when exposed to a predetermined environmental condition than the less-environment-hardened circuitry on the environment-hardened die. The dice are combined using a 3D or 2.5D integrated circuit technology. This is very useful for testing circuits at adverse environmental conditions (e.g. high temperature), or for providing circuits to operate at such conditions.

  • Patent number: 10037434
Abstract: A method for providing access to objects associated with a particular client in a cloud storage system is disclosed. The method includes the steps of establishing a connection with a user, providing a client namespace associated with the client to the user, where the client namespace represents objects stored on the cloud storage system and objects stored on a private storage system apart from the cloud storage system, receiving a request from the user to access an object stored on the private storage system, and providing information to the user to facilitate access to the object stored on the private storage system by said user. Other systems and methods are also disclosed. Important advantages of the present invention are facilitated by separating the logic for user access (control plane) from the actual storage (Storage plane). Private file system access can still be managed from the cloud, while keeping the client data private.

  • Patent number: 10038594
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for centralized access, control, and management of APs. According to one embodiment, multiple APs of a private IP network are decoupled from potentially transient IP addresses by assigning a unique identifier to each of the multiple APs by an AC. An AC GUI is presented by the AC to an administrator through which (i) commands are provided by the administrator and (ii) the administrator is provided with access to a first AP of the multiple APs responsive to a command received from the administrator though the AC GUI and based upon the first AP's assigned unique identifier. The first AP is accessed, controlled or debugged by the AC based on the command. The access to the first AP enables a first AP GUI of the first AP through which the network administrator is provided with an ability to issue multiple commands to the first AP.

  • Publication number: 20180213187
Abstract: A system comprises an aerial imaging platform configured to rise to a height above ground. An apparatus allows an entity to move the aerial platform in a desired direction. The aerial platform includes a camera positioned to capture images of the ground. The camera includes a position sensor. A user/entity may move the aerial platform over a region to be imaged. The system includes a device that may be carried by the user/entity. The device receives information about a region to be imaged and a field of vision of the camera, determines a first path, and provides information on the first path to the user/entity. As the user/entity moves the aerial platform along the first path, the device receives data from the camera position sensor and determines a second path. The user/entity may then move the aerial platform along the second path to capture unimaged areas of the region.

  • Publication number: 20180213186
Abstract: An imaging system that includes a camera mourned on an aerial platform, for example a balloon, allows a user to increase the longevity of the camera's battery by remote control. A user may capture imagery at a time scale of interest and desired power consumption by adjusting parameters for image capture by the camera. A user may adjust a time to capture an image, a time to capture a video, or a number of cycles per time period to capture one or more images as the aerial platform moves in a region of interest to change power consumption for imaging. The system also provides imaging alignment to account for unwanted movement of the aerial platform when moved in the region of interest. Additionally, a mounting device is provided that is simple and inexpensive, and that allows a camera to remain positioned in a desired position relative to the ground.

  • Publication number: 20180213421
Abstract: Methods for predicting future spectrum utilization are disclosed. Monitoring of spectrum signatures in a first system during a first time period may indicate that a particular frequency spectrum is being used by at least one device or second system for at least one type of application based on monitored spectrum usage. Knowledge of the monitored spectrum usage may be used to determine a prediction of how the frequency spectrum will be used in a second time period by the at least one device or second system, and the prediction may be utilized for selecting portions of the frequency spectrum for use in the first system during the second time period. The knowledge of the monitored spectrum usage may be combined with information in a database when determining the prediction of use.
