  • Publication number: 20140310555
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments disclose techniques for performing physical domain error isolation and recovery in a multi-domain system, where the multi-domain system includes two or more processor chips and one or more switch chips that provide connectivity and cache-coherency support for the processor chips, and the processor chips are divided into two or more distinct domains. During operation, one of the switch chips determines a fault in the multi-domain system. The switch chip determines an originating domain that is associated with the fault, and then signals the fault and an identifier for the originating domain to its internal units, some of which perform clearing operations that clear out all traffic for the originating domain without affecting the other domains of the multi-domain system.

  • Publication number: 20140301666
Abstract: A unique system, method, and user interface are provided that facilitate more efficient indexing and retrieval of images. In particular, the systems and methods involve annotating or geo-coding images with their location metadata. Geo-coded images can be displayed on a map and browsed or queried based on their location metadata. Images can be annotated one by one or in bulk to reduce repetitiveness and inconsistency among related images. More specifically, selected images can be dropped onto a map, thereby triggering a virtual marker to appear. The virtual marker facilitates pinpointing the precise location associated with the images on the map with a higher level of granularity. The system and method can also generate customized directions and include geo-coded images throughout to serve as visual landmarks. Privacy controls can be employed as well to control access and modification of the images.

  • Publication number: 20140294566
Abstract: In a turbomachine having an inlet, a compressor, and a turbine, a closed loop sends fluid from a stage of the compressor to a heat exchanger in the turbine and to the inlet. The closed loop heats the fluid, cools the turbine, and delivers heated fluid to the inlet. A mixer can be interposed between the heat exchanger and the inlet to mix fluid from the heat exchanger with compressor discharge fluid, delivering the mixed fluid to the inlet. The mixer can control flow received so that desired temperature and/or flow rate can be provided to the inlet.

  • Patent number: 8848430
Abstract: A method and system for forming, resetting, or setting memory cells is disclosed. One or more programming conditions to apply to a memory cell having a reversible resistivity-switching element may be determined based on its resistance. The determination of one or more programming conditions may also be based on a pre-determined algorithm that may be based on properties of the memory cell. The one or more programming conditions may include a programming voltage and a current limit. For example, the magnitude of the programming voltage may be based on the resistance. As another example, the width of a programming voltage pulse may be based on the resistance. In some embodiments, a current limit used during programming is determined based on the memory cell resistance.

  • Publication number: 20140286092
Abstract: This disclosure concerns memory kink checking. One embodiment includes selectively applying one of a plurality of voltages to a first data line according to a programming status of a first memory cell, wherein the first memory cell is coupled to the first data line and to a selected access line. An effect on a second data line is determined, due at least in part to the voltage applied to the first data line and a capacitive coupling between at least the first data line and the second data line, wherein the second data line is coupled to a second memory cell, the second memory cell is adjacent to the first memory cell, and the second memory cell is coupled to the selected access line. A kink correction is applied to the second data line, responsive to the determined effect, during a subsequent programming pulse applied to the second memory cell.

  • Patent number: 8842997
Abstract: Return To Zero (RZ) shaping is performed for a first I/Q modulator whose output corresponds to a first polarization component using a first two digital-to-analog convertors (DACs), each of which is sampled at approximately twice a modulation symbol rate or more and has an output with a first interleaving order that interleaves one of a first pair of intended drive signal patterns and zeros. RZ shaping is also performed for a second I/Q modulator whose output corresponds to a second polarization component using a second two DACs, each sampled at approximately twice the modulation symbol rate or more and having a second interleaving order that interleaves zeros and one of a second pair of intended drive signal patterns, the second interleaving order opposite the first interleaving order. The first polarization and the second polarization may be combined, thereby forming an Interleaved Return To Zero (IRZ) Polarization Division Multiplexed (PDM) signal.

  • Patent number: 8827157
Abstract: A scanner detection model is created by a detection system to determine whether a laser scanner is present so the user is notified of the potential inability to accurately read a machine-readable identifier on a user device. A user operating the user device accesses an electronic record and a machine-readable identifier that comprises information identifying the electronic record is displayed on the user device. A scanner detection module detects display of the machine-readable identifier and turns on a camera resident on the user device. The camera captures and analyzes images. The scanner detection module identifies whether the scanner is a laser scanner based on an analysis of the images and the scanner detection model created by the detection system. If the scanner is a laser scanner, a message is displayed on the user device indicating that the machine-readable identifier is to be entered or inputted, instead of scanned.
