  • Patent number: 8892638
Abstract: Retrieval and local storage of data at mobile devices is managed by employing a scheduling policy based on a prediction policy of a preloader, a pre-render policy, and with respect to a current viewport state to reduce waiting time and mobile device resource usage. Portions of data maintained on a server associated with a client device are retrieved and preloaded into the client device memory to enable a user to view documents seamlessly while navigating through a document without overburdening the client device memory and/or processing capacity based on a prediction. A current viewing position of the document and user navigation on the document via a touch action or gesture are detected and next portion of data to present another portion of the document is predicted. A request manager may retrieve the requested data from the server and pre-rendered so that it is available when requested by the user.

  • Publication number: 20140332890
Abstract: At least one semiconductor fin is formed over an insulator layer. Portions of the insulator layer are etched from underneath the at least one semiconductor fin. The amount of the etched portions of the insulator is selected such that a metallic gate electrode layer fills the entire gap between the recessed surfaces of the insulator layer and the bottom surface(s) of the at least one semiconductor fin. An interface between the metallic gate electrode layer and a semiconductor gate electrode layer contiguously extends over the at least one semiconductor fin and does not underlie any of the at least one semiconductor fin. During patterning of a gate electrode, removal of the semiconductor material in the semiconductor gate electrode layer can be facilitated because the semiconductor gate electrode layer is not present under the at least one semiconductor fin.

  • Publication number: 20140331449
Abstract: An adjustable door closer has a hollow pedestal with a first and a second chamber as well as an actuating groove. An actuating device is set into the actuating groove. A first piston assembly is set into the first chamber and a second piston assembly set into the second chamber. A partition wall is formed between the first and second chambers. Due to a laterally configured flow resistance unit, the holes to be set into the first and second chambers are reduced to three, including a no connecting hole and first and second backflow bypass holes, all of which are connected only to the second chamber from the partition wall. As such, the flow path structure is simplified compared to the five holes required for typical structures. The adjustable door closer could reduce significantly the manufacturing cost and realize better regulating functions with improved applicability and economic benefits.
