  • Patent number: 7055118
Abstract: A method and apparatus for improved formal scan chain equivalence checking to verify the operation of components in a VLSI integrated circuit is described in connection with using symbolic simulation for verification of scan chain equivalency between different modeling representations of a circuit-under-test. The present invention enhances previous techniques by loading each scannable state-element in the circuit design with a symbolic expression that characterizes the logical location of the element and performing a scan shift operation to verify the contents of each scannable state-element at the scan-out and other primary output pins of the design.

  • Patent number: 5886805
Abstract: An optical scanning device and synchronizing signal detecting method, in which beams before or after an effective scanning width are identically reflected in an opposite direction of a scanning path upon being incident to a reflection unit to return to a light source unit via a focal unit and a deflection unit and signal change is induced within the light source unit upon the return of the beams, thereby detecting a synchronizing signal according to the signal change to simplifying the construction. The optical device includes the light source unit having a laser diode for radiating the beams and a photodiode for detecting the beams output, the deflection unit for deflecting the beams outgoing from the light source unit by a regular angle of view, and the focal unit for converging the beams outgoing from the deflection unit and scanning them onto a photosensitive drum.

  • Patent number: 5748357
Abstract: An optical detecting apparatus has a light source for emitting laser beams and a collimator and cylindrical lenses for collecting the laser beams. A mirror has first faces arranged in a polygon for rotating the mirror and reflecting some of the collected laser beams from the first faces, whereby each of the faces provides an effective width of scanning of the laser beams. Second faces also on the mirror respectively with the first faces are optically at a different angle from the first faces for reflecting others of the collected laser beams and an optical detector is spaced from the mirror for detecting the others of laser beams reflected from the second faces and producing synchronizing signals when the others of the collected laser beams reflected from the second faces are detected before or after the effective width of scanning.

  • Patent number: 5748356
Abstract: An optical scanning apparatus has an F-.theta. function with one aspherical lens having a toric configuration that compensates for the vibration of a rotating polygon mirror. The optical scanning apparatus includes a laser diode as the source of light, a collimator lens, a compound prism, a rotating polygon mirror, and a scanning lens system. The compound prism is located between the rotating polygon mirror and the laser diode so that the laser diode and an optical axis form a right angle. The scanning lens is composed of one lens with magnification in mainscanning/subscanning directions. With such a construction, by providing an F-.theta. function and compensating for the vigration of the rotating polygon mirror, the number of lenses is mnimized, the manufacture and assembly/adjustment of the lens are simplified, and the number of manufacturing steps can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5640265
Abstract: This invention discloses an optical scanning apparatus which gives an F-.theta. function by means of an axis-symmetric aspherical lens serving as a scanning lens and facilitates the manufacture, assembly and adjustment of the lens by providing a cylindrical lens between a rotating polygon mirror and the axis-symmetric aspherical lens. According to this invention, two lenses which may be injection moulded and use plastic material form an optical scanning system. The cylindrical lens of these two lenses is located between the rotating polygon mirror and the scanning lens for image-forming light in the subscanning direction, the scanning lens of these two lenses is located between the cylindrical lens and the image formation plane for image-forming light in the mainscanning direction. Also, magnification of the mainscanning direction and that of the subscanning direction are independent.
