Abstract: An image processing apparatus and method include a receiver configured to receive an image, a display configured to display the received image, an extractor configured to extract a first object contour by applying a preset algorithm to an area of the displayed image designated by a user and extract a second object contour based on the designated area, an image analyzer configured to analyze the displayed image, and a controller configured to determine weight values for the first and second object contours based on an analysis result of the image analyzer and extract an object contour based on the first and second object contours to which the determined weight values are applied. The image processing apparatus extracts an object intended by a user even in a heavily noisy image.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive an image, a display configured to display the image, a communicator configured to perform communication with an external server and receive On-Screen Display (OSD) configuration information, and a controller configured to, when an OSD event occurs, extract an OSD configuration element from the displayed image, determines whether the extracted OSD configuration element matches the received OSD configuration information, and in response to determining that the extracted OSD configuration element matches the received OSD configuration information, obtain information regarding the displayed image from the extracted OSD configuration element.

Abstract: A content stream transmission apparatus with reverse traceability comprises a pattern insertion unit dividing the original content in units of segments and inserting at least two patterns to each segment and creating at least two pattern contents; an encryption unit encrypting the at least two pattern contents; a content selection unit selecting one of the at least two pattern contents based on user identification information; and a transmission unit transmitting the selected pattern content to a user device. Therefore, as copyright and leakage tracking information are enabled to be inserted into the contents in real-time, the present invention not only provides security-enhanced contents but also services real-time content streaming services.

The method including the steps of: analyzing a histogram of an image to which a white balance algorithm is to be applied; classifying the image, to which the white balance algorithm is to be applied, according to color distribution determination criteria; and the white balance algorithm is applied to the image in a customized manner based on results of the classification based on color distributions. The apparatus includes an image sensor unit for photographing a subject and for creating an original image; and an image processing unit for finding an achromatic color region through estimation of a color temperature of the original image, for extracting a white point of the achromatic color region, and for adjusting a white balance of the original image.

Abstract: A lens shading correction method and apparatus are provided for removing vignetting occurring in digital images due to lens shading. A white image captured by an image pickup device and an image pickup unit is separated into reference white images corresponding to color channels. A vignetting center having a maximum light intensity is estimated in each of the reference white images. Multiple reference segments on each of the reference white images are defined. A lens shading correction value corresponding to each pixel constituting the reference segments are calculated using a corresponding light intensity. A lens shading correction function corresponding to each reference segment is derived using a corresponding lens shading correction value. Vignetting of a general image received in a general image processing mode is removed, using the derived multiple lens shading correction functions.
