  • Publication number: 20040065238
Abstract: An elevational adjusting device using an air pressure rod to lift an object is disclosed. A connector is used to connect the object with the air pressure rod. The adjusting device comprises an operating rod fixed to the object to be adjusted; a rope; and a movable plate pivotally connected to the connector. The pull end and the pressure applied end of the movable plate are not at the same line. It is only necessary to rotate the operating rod, the rope will be pulled to drive the pressure applied end of the movable plate to touch a touch moving end of the movable plate of the air pressure rod, causing the air pressure rod to move telescopically to drive the object to move upwards or downwards so as to adjust the position of the object.

  • Publication number: 20030030317
Abstract: An armrest of a chair with a cushion is arranged at one side of a chair and is movable for adjusting the position and orientation thereof. The armrest comprises a slidable platform and a parallel linkage means. The slidable platform has a retaining seat and a sliding seat. The retaining seat is fixed to a predetermined position at one of two sides of the chair. The sliding seat is supported by the retaining seat and is movable with respect to the retaining seat. A parallel linkage means including a main linkage and a pair of swinging linkages is pivotally connected to two ends of the main linkage. Another ends of the swinging linkages not being connected to the main linkage are pivotally connected retaining seat. The main linkage has a cushion. By the supporting of the parallel linkage means, the user can move the cushion to different positions or be at any orientation.

  • Patent number: 6299253
Abstract: A telescopic positioning mechanism for chair backrest comprises a channel on backrest including a notched member, a top ramp, a bottom ramp, and two side grooves, a guide on the chair support including two side tongues slidably engaging with grooves and an anchored torsion spring, and a latch member biased by torsion spring to engage with one notch in a locked position. Pull backrest up in adjusting the height of channel with respect to guide. In turn, the locked latch member is pushed rightward to clear from the notch. Latch member is biased leftward to move into engagement with the next adjacent notch by virtue of torsion spring. In a highest position, latch member moves along bottom ramp to a free position. Then pushes down backrest to cause it to reach its lowest position such that latch member moves along top ramp to a free position. Backrest is capable of being locked by notched member in one of a plurality of vertical positions relative to the seat.

  • Patent number: 6213556
Abstract: An extendible chair arm comprises a rail member supported by an arm stump, a sliding member disposed in rail member being moveable within a length of trough of rail member, a first pivot plate with inner end pivotably secured to sliding member by a bearing, and a second pivot plate pivotably secured to the outer end of first pivot plate. With this, arm pad supported by second pivot plate can move and pivot with respect to the chair as sliding member moves in cooperation with the rotation of first pivot plate relative to sliding member and second pivot plate for providing a support for elbow when doing office work on table. Thus prevents arm fatigue.

  • Patent number: 6209840
Abstract: A mechanism for the relative positioning of chair arm comprises a shroud including a first opening, a second opening, and a top plate; a supporting member disposed within the shroud including a notched cavity; a shuttle member disposed between the shroud and the supporting member comprising a vertical member having a slanted slot, a top horizontal member having a riser, a spring disposed on the riser being biased between the top horizontal member and the top plate, and a trigger button disposed on the top horizontal member; and a lock pin for slidably securing the slanted slot, the first opening, and the cavity together. Raising the trigger button will cause the lock pin to slide along the cavity and release of the trigger button will cause the lock pin to lock in the cavity.
