  • Patent number: 9417721
Abstract: A TFT touch display device includes a plurality of mutually vertical control lines and sensor lines and a plurality of TFTs. Each TFT is disposed at an intersection of one of the plurality of control line and one of the plurality of sensor line. The TFT is connected to a corresponding control line, a corresponding sensor line, and a power source. When there is an object approaching to the TFT, the TFT is turned on and a back-channel current is generated. A control unit is connected to the plurality of control lines to respectively provide a control signal to the plurality of control lines. A current sensing unit is connected to the plurality of sensor lines to respectively sense a current generated by the TFTs.

  • Patent number: 9401703
Abstract: A relaxation oscillator system has a relaxation oscillator and a frequency control (FC) unit. The oscillator includes first and second oscillator sub-circuits and a latch. The first and second oscillator sub-circuits receive from the FC unit, respectively, first and second control signals for controlling corresponding outputs provided to the latch by the first and second oscillator sub-circuits. The latch outputs a variable frequency feedback signal provided to the FC unit. The FC unit receives a frequency control signal for controlling the frequency of an oscillator output signal and generates the first and second control inputs based on the frequency control signal and the feedback signal so that changes to the oscillator frequency are implemented by each oscillator sub-circuit while that sub-circuit is in an idle state to avoid glitches in the oscillator output signal.

  • Patent number: 9305207
Abstract: A depth-photographing method of detecting human face or head includes the steps of using the specific light to illuminate the target under an environmental light, receiving and detecting the reflected light from the target with the detector, generating first depth detecting information corresponding to the depth of the target, turning off the specific light, detecting another reflected light from the target, generating second depth detecting information corresponding to the depth of the target, performing the detection/calculation process based on the first and second depth detecting information to generate the appearance of the target, determining if the appearance of the target represents a human face or head, and if yes, generating depth-photographing detection information used to cancel a lock state, thereby avoiding unintentionally entering power saving (or standby mode), speeding up entering the desired power saving or dynamically changing/adjusting the display content.

Abstract: Zhankuic acid A (ZAA) is the major pharmacologically active compound of Taiwanofungus camphoratus. We analyzed the structure of human TLR4/MD-2 complex with ZAA by X-score and HotLig modeling approaches. Two antibodies against MD-2 were used to verify the MD-2/ZAA interaction. The inflammation and survival of the mice pretreated with ZAA and injected with LPS were monitored. The modeling structure shows that ZAA binds the MD-2 hydrophobic pocket exclusively via specific molecular recognition; the contact interface is dominated by hydrophobic interactions. Binding of ZAA to MD-2 reduced antibody recognition to native MD-2, similar to the effect of LPS binding. Furthermore, ZAA significantly ameliorated LPS-induced endotoxemia and Salmonella-induced diarrhea in mice. Our results indicate that ZAA, which can compete with LPS for binding to MD-2 as a TLR4/MD-2 antagonist, is a potential therapeutic agent for Gram-negative bacterial infections.

  • Publication number: 20150379293
Abstract: Techniques are provided for integrating application-level user security context with a database. A session manager, in a middle tier that includes an application, obtains the security context of a user and establishes, in the database, a light-weight session (LWS) that reflects the security context. The security context is synchronized between the middle tier and database before application code execution. The database maintains an isolated copy of the LWS for the unit of application code executed as the security context. The database sends to the session manager the identifier of the copy of LWS. Before allowing a request from an application to be sent to the database, the session manager, transparent to the application, inserts an identifier that identifies the LWS. In this way, the database processes an application request in the context of the corresponding user's security context that is the same as the security context in the middle tier.

  • Publication number: 20150371018
Abstract: Techniques for efficient cursor sharing to enforce fine-grained access control are provided. In one technique, the authorization context of a database statement is stored in (or in association with) a corresponding cursor. The authorization context indicates multiple authorization results, each of which indicates whether a user (or role) associated with the database statement is allowed to access a different data set of multiple data sets that the database statement targets. An authorization context of an incoming database statement may be compared to the authorization context of a cursor in a single comparison to determine whether the authorization contexts match. If so, then the cursor may be shared. In another technique, one or more normalizations are applied to a cursor predicate that is generated based on the authorization context of a database statement. The one or more normalizations may result in removing one or more predicates from the cursor predicate.

  • Publication number: 20150306112
Abstract: Zhankuic acid A (ZAA) could suppress phosphorylation of JAK2 and JAK3 and signaling of downstream molecules. Moreover, ZAA could inhibit the IFN-?/STAT1/IRF-1 pathway in vivo and in vitro. Furthermore, data show that pre-treatment with ZAA could significantly ameliorate Con A-induced hepatitis in mice. The above results strongly suggest that ZAA treatment could block JAK2 and JAK3 activation, and may be a valuable therapeutic approach for the treatment of immune cell induced inflammation.

  • Patent number: 9131301
Abstract: The invention relates to a speaker enclosure and a method for fabricating the same. The speaker enclosure comprises a main housing, a top cover, and a bottom plate. The main housing fabricated by a molding process and having a continuous side wall, end faces, and an inner space, wherein, a plurality of ribs are formed on the inner surface of the continuous side wall, so that the inner surface is an irregular surface. Therefore, the reflected direction of sound waves generated by a speaker unit in the inner space will be changed and the amplitude of sound waves will be decreased by an irregular surface formed in the inner surface of the continuous side wall. As the result, standing waves and echoes mixing with original sound waves may be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 9104739
Abstract: Techniques are described herein for capturing and restoring database session state. Production database server components save the session state of each of a plurality of database sessions. The components store workload units that are processed in these sessions. The components store updated session states in response to certain events. Thus, the components may capture multiple session states, pertaining to various different points in time, for each session. The captured session states and the captured workload are moved to a test database server. A user selects, from among the time points represented by the session states, a point in time at which the user would like workload replay to begin. Sessions are re-created on the test database server. Session states of these sessions are set to reflect the session states as they existed at the user-selected time point. Workload units are replayed in the sessions relative to the test database server.

  • Patent number: 9104829
Abstract: A method of validating timing issues in a gate-level simulation (GLS) of an integrated circuit design including multiple cells includes running a simulation routine of a behavioral model of the design and obtaining a first simulation result. If there is a possible timing violation at a cell corresponding to a forcing indeterminate value, the simulated output of the cell is forced to a first value and a second simulation result obtained. If this result is negative, a report of apparent timing violations at the cell is generated. If the second simulation result is positive, the output of the cell is then forced to a second value and a third simulation result is obtained. If this result is negative, a report of apparent timing violations at the cell is generated but, if it is positive, a report of no apparent timing violation is generated.

  • Patent number: 9043309
Abstract: Techniques are provided for a database server to identify a query that comprises an access check operator specifying a data access control policy, and if so, to re-write the query to produce an optimized query execution plan. A first technique rewrites a query comprising an access check operator based on the privileges associated with the database principal requesting the query. The rewritten query exposes the access predicates relevant to the requesting principal to subsequent database optimization processes. A second technique rewrites a query comprising an access check operator that specifies a data security policy that does not include a denied privilege. A third technique rewrites a query that comprises an access check operator specifying one or more database table columns that store row-specific access control lists. The rewritten queries are used to generate a query execution plan that provides for several query execution optimizations.
