  • Publication number: 20110102992
Abstract: Disclosed is a computing system including bag and computer components which allow the bag wearer to quickly access and use a computer while mobile. System components, which may vary, include: a bag adapted to attach various computer components and with a computer equipment storage area on outside front; a pivoting display panel located near the bag top front and pivoting into the storage area a computing unit panel located on the bag's inside front; a pivoting input device located on the outside bag front; a pivoting cover near the bottom of the storage area to protect the equipment stored there. The components have appropriate physical and electrical connections. The computing unit panel, in particular, may be shaped and positioned on the inside of the bag front to form a front wall support to assist in storing the display panel in the storage area on the outside of the bag front.

  • Publication number: 20110058023
Abstract: A structured light imaging (SLI) system includes a projection system, image sensor system and processing module. The projection system is operable to project a single SLI pattern into an imaging area. The image sensor system is operable to capture images of a 3D object moving through the imaging area. The image sensor system outputs a subset of camera pixels corresponding to a subwindow of a camera frame to generate subwindow images. The processing module is operable to create a 3D surface map of the 3D object based on the subwindow images.

  • Publication number: 20110051349
Abstract: Disclosed is a system comprised of a bag and computer combination which allows the bag wearer to quickly access and use a computer while mobile. The system can be in three forms and all three are used in the same way: a pivoting cover is moved out of the way to expose a display which pivots into the line of sight of the wearer/operator. When assembled, all the components are physically connected and electrical components are electrically connected. Additional components include a keyboard or write pad mounted on the pivoting cover or on a separate pivoting mount near the center bag front, a display prop which braces the display in various angular positions and side pockets fitted for peripherals. An example is cited using a bag with flap mounts and equipment which mounts to the flaps using clamps.

  • Patent number: 7894179
Abstract: Disclosed is a panel-like display meant for pivotally mounting near the top front corner of a matching bag by one edge so it can be pivoted into the line of sight of the bag wearer. It may electrically connect to the bags interior or may include its own computing unit. The display panel may be attached to the bag with a display edge clamp meant to match a short flap near the top front corner of a matching bag. The display panel may include an input device, such as a touch pad, and this may be on the back side of the panel opposite the display. The panel may be split in two parts with separate display and touch pad components on the separate part. The display back side may also have fixtures to match a bag front display prop which holds the display at various angles.

  • Patent number: 7889496
Abstract: Disclosed is an assembly to hold the angular position of a display panel relative to the bag front to which it is pivotally attached. The display panel is attached to the bag so it can pivot flat against the bag front or away from the bag into the line of sight of the computer operator/bag wearer. The display back and bag front have holders meant to match the ends of a prop bar which extends between the two. There are three embodiments; 1) a rigid bar between the two holders, 2) a semi-rigid bar held pivotally with the first holder and the opposite bar end sliding through the second holder with friction to hold the display panel position, 3) a rigid bar held pivotally with a first holder having a hinge with friction to hold the display panel position and the opposite bar end sliding along the second holder.

  • Patent number: 7876558
Abstract: Disclosed is a bag computer comprised of a bag with holder and computer with display panel and body panels hinged together. The computer body installs into the holder so the display panel pivots near the top of the bag front with its display facing outward/upward so the bag wearer can store the display against the bag front or pivot it into his line of sight. To provide access between peripherals, memory or batteries inside the bag and the computer outside the bag, the bag's front wall may have; 1) an opening with coupling matching the computer back side; 2) a pattern of holes matching a computer with inside and outside body parts which join with attachments through the pattern of holes; 3) an electrical connection in the holder which connects the computer to a connection box inside bag.

  • Patent number: 7821779
Abstract: The Bag Computer Assembly with Exposable Control Surface is a panel-like computer with mounting attachments to allow it to be pivotally attached to a bag so that it may be stored flat against the bag front or pivoted out on one computer edge so that the display on the computer's front is in the line of sight of the operator/wearer for use. In addition, the computer is comprised of two panel-like parts which slide relative to each other and allow a control surface, with keyboard, electronic write pad or other controls, to be exposed for use when needed. The back side of the computer may have controls so there is no need to reduce display size because of controls. There may be a bag with mounting attachments to match the computer's mounting attachments and these both attach the bag and computer and allow them to pivot for storage and use.

  • Publication number: 20090225508
Abstract: Disclosed is an improvement to the bag computer of application Ser. No. 11/796,920. The bag computer has a pivoting display panel near its top front which can store against the bag front or pivot into the line of sight of the bag computer wearer/operator. To accommodate the computer input of typed or written information the bag computer may have a pivoting input device on the bag front. The input device may mount on a pivoting cover which covers the display panel when in storage or the input device may have a separate pivoting mount. To gain advantage through multiple components, the input device may be divided into a body which pivotally attaches to the bag front and a removable insert which may be adapted to alternatively accept typed or written input. Thus, the input device may be quickly changed from a cover to a keyboard or to an electronic write pad.
