  • Patent number: 10029042
Abstract: A storage assembly is removably connectable to a drug delivery device. A first chamber is disposed in the housing. A plurality of penetrating members are stored in the first chamber. A second chamber is disposed in the housing for storing the plurality of penetrating members after being used in an injection. A transfer drum disposed in the housing transfers one of the penetrating members from the first chamber to an injection position and from the injection position to the second chamber following an injection.

  • Patent number: 10022504
Abstract: A pen needle (101) for use with a drug delivery device (100) includes a hub body (113) having internal threads (216) to receive the drug delivery device (100). A post (121) is connected to the hub body (113). A needle (103) is rigidly fixed to the post (121). The post (121) is separable from the hub body (113) such that the needle (103) is removed with the post (121). The fluid path is not disturbed by such removal because the entire needle (103) is removed with the post (121). Removal of only the post (121) and needle (103) reduces the volume of waste required for disposal, thereby increasing the effective capacity of a sharps container.

  • Publication number: 20180008814
Abstract: An infusion set system includes a base and a fluid connector removably coupleable thereto. The fluid connector includes a fluid path portion and at least one connector latch displaceably connected to the fluid path portion and displaceable to a latching position in which at least a portion of the connector latch extends into the fluid path portion, which includes a cannula extending from a top interior surface thereof, and a plurality of internal sidewalls corresponding to at least two of a plurality of flat side surfaces of at least one of a base section and a base latch, thereby facilitating connection between the base and the fluid connector in a plurality of discrete rotational connecting positions. When the fluid connector is locked to the base, the at least one connector latch engages a base latching portion of the base and restricts proximal displacement of the fluid connector.

  • Publication number: 20170326308
Abstract: A safety needle and hub module for selective connection with a medical device that includes a base and a head. The module includes a needle shield for selectively covering a distal end of a needle. A needle hub is movably received within a proximal opening of the needle shield, and extends through a passageway of the needle shield. An actuation button is movably received in opposing lateral apertures of the needle shield to engage the needle shield, the needle hub and the medical device. In a first position an upper leg of the actuation button is received in a recess of the needle hub, and a lower leg of the actuation button is received in an undercut between the base and head of the medical device. In a second position, after the actuation button is actuated, the module is removable from the medical device.

  • Publication number: 20170281864
Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods for the wireless communication of medical devices in an on-body fluid delivery system are disclosed. A system for on-body fluid delivery includes a primary patch pump adapted to attach a first infusion cannula to a user and to perform a plurality of primary patch pump functions, and a secondary patch pump adapted to attach a second infusion cannula to a user. The secondary patch pump is further adapted to perform a plurality of secondary patch pump functions substantially similar to the plurality of primary patch pump functions if an error condition associated with the primary patch pump is determined.

  • Patent number: 9675751
Abstract: A reservoir and straight-line, push-on connector assembly is provided for connecting the reservoir and one of a standard Luer line set and a custom Luer line set to any number of infusion pump configurations using a simple straight-line, push-on motion, wherein the push-on connector assembly is provided and configured to secure the line set and reservoir with the infusion pump. One simple straight-line, push-on motion, preferably performed by gripping an expander sleeve, places and secures the reservoir (i.e., locates the reservoir on the x, y, and z axes) in the pump reservoir cavity, and one simple straight-line, pull-off motion releases and removes the reservoir from the pump reservoir cavity. Rotational orientation is not required for connection, pump engagement, or pump function, and any pulling of the tube set will not release the reservoir as the expansion sleeve through which the tube set is routed is not moved from the securing position by tension on the tube set or Luer fitting.
