  • Patent number: 7721273
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and methodology facilitating automated manufacturing processes in an industrial controller environment. An automation system is provided for automated industrial processing. The system includes an equipment phase object that is executed by a controller engine, wherein the equipment phase object can be accessible from internal instructions within the controller and/or from external instructions directed to the controller such as from a server or another controller across a network connection. A sequencing engine operates with the equipment phase object to facilitate automated industrial processing. The sequencing engine can be adapted to various industrial standards or in accordance with other state type models.

  • Publication number: 20100121799
Abstract: A requesting entity can submit a query to an industrial control configuration to determine a location for a module. A distributed directory can be employed to discover an absolute location of the module, which can be provided to the requesting entity. This discovery can occur in real-time such that an answer can be given with a relatively high degree of certainty. In addition to providing the absolute address in the answer, a path on how to reach the module can be provided. The path can be optimized in order to allow quicker response time and to manage system resources.

  • Publication number: 20100076575
Abstract: An industrial control configuration can be a dynamic entity where different controllers are added, are subtracted, fail, etc. When dynamic functions occur, bindings of the configuration can benefit from a modification. Therefore, automatic adjustment of bindings can occur to facilitate improved operation. Automatic adjustment can be practiced when the industrial control configuration is a distributed control configuration without reliance upon a central database.

  • Publication number: 20100048179
Abstract: A system, computer-readable medium system, and method which provide for delivering notifications to a mobile device where the provider has first and second mobile technology types. Initially, a notification is received from a notification sub-system. A first communication of the notification to the mobile device is then attempted via the first technology type. Where the mobile device has the second technology type, an error signal is received that the attempt has failed. Next, a second communication of the notification to the mobile device is attempted via the second technology type. Where the mobile device has the second technology type and receives the notification, a delivery signal that the attempt was successful is received. After the delivery signal is received, logging of the second technology type of the mobile device is made so that thereafter, any new notification is attempted using the logged second technology type.

  • Publication number: 20100038539
Abstract: Particular embodiments relate generally to infrared focal plane arrays and methods thereof. According to one embodiment, an infrared focal plane comprises an array of pixels configured to detect optical radiation in a predetermined radiation band are positioned on a support substrate. The pixels are connected to pixel contacts on a read-out integrated circuit via pixel interconnects comprising bonding bumps. According to some embodiments, indium migration is blocked by a patterned electrical insulator comprising a plurality of intersecting walls defining a plurality of cells that surround each pixel interconnect. The patterned electrical insulator may be dimensioned such that it does not physically contact the support substrate, the array of pixels or pixel interconnects. In this manner, pixel-pair defects due to indium migration resulting from cryogenic thermal-cycling may be prevented, thereby extending the thermal-cycling lifetime of the focal plane array.

  • Publication number: 20100042586
Abstract: In a distributed directory configuration, different nodes can retain information pertinent an industrial control configuration. As information changes in one node, replicas of the information in other nodes can be updated. However, updating can take time and a query can be run upon the directory while nodes have conflicting information. Conflicting information can be identified and resolved such that a query obtains a correct answer.

  • Publication number: 20100036010
Abstract: Polyether polyols are initiated with aminocyclohexanealkylamines such as isophoronediamine and 1,8-diaminop-menthane. The polyols are useful in making rigid polyurethane foams, especially foams for pour-in-place applications, where they give a good combination of low k-factor and short demold times.

  • Publication number: 20100035732
Abstract: A muscle exercise device can include a crank having an axis of rotation. A first arm can be connected to the crank so that a downward external force applied to the distal end of the first arm causes rotation of the crank. The devices of the present invention can further include a second arm to which a counterweight is connected. Optionally, an assist mechanism other than a counterweight can be used to provide upward movement of the first arm with minimal application of force by a subject. A retrofit kit can be provided for modifying an existing device such as an ergometer or road bicycle. The retrofit kit can include a counterweight and a fastener for attaching to the device to the existing device. The devices of the present invention allow for increased exercise capacity, isolation of muscle groups, and biomechanical forces which closely approximate comparable paired limb motion.

  • Patent number: 7657333
Abstract: Systems and methods that vary multiple data sampling rates, to collect sets of data with different levels of granularity for an industrial system. The data for such industrial system includes sets of data from the “internal” data stream(s) (e.g., history data collected from an industrial unit) and sets of data from an “external” (e.g., traffic data on network services) data stream(s), based in part on the criticality/importance criteria assigned to each collection stage. Each set of data can be assigned its own unique data collection rate. For example, a higher sample rate can be employed when collecting data from the network during an operation stage that is deemed more critical (e.g., dynamic attribution of predetermined importance factors) than the rest of the operation.

  • Patent number: 7644068
Abstract: A user wishes to view a record, such as one that includes a person's medical history, located in a record storage area. In order to prevent the user from viewing records other than the specific record in which the user is interested, a record selection manager iteratively requests attribute information from the user to disambiguate which record to provide until the record selection manager identifies a reduction completion result, which the record selection manager then provides to the user. Using the invention described herein, the record selection manager conceals records included in the records storage area until it identifies a reduction completion result and, at that point, the record selection manager provides only the reduction completion result to the user to view.

  • Publication number: 20090300021
Abstract: In an industrial control setting, different components can have information that can be valuable to various entities, such as other components, technicians, and the like. A decision can be made as to what information should be available to entities and a determination can be made if the information should be published in a directory or be discoverable. Security can be taken into account in determining if information should be published and decision making can employ adaptive learning, such that a publish and/or discovery decision criterion can be modified based on the learning.

  • Publication number: 20090192645
Abstract: In an industrial control system, a relatively large number of bindings can permeate between different controllers. As a modification is made in a primary binding, supplemental bindings can be impacted and can become erroneous. The supplemental bindings can be automatically resolved such that they are no longer erroneous. Resolution can take place through access of a distributed directory that holds information related to the different controllers. To lower a likelihood of control system error or failure, the primary binding and supplemental binding can be placed online in synchronization.

  • Publication number: 20090193029
Abstract: Various amounts of information can be beneficial to different controllers configured upon an industrial control system. Information can be retained in a distributed directory such that controllers quickly learn information concerning other controllers. The distributed directory can be automatically constructed and populated with information from different controllers. When a module enters an industrial control system, information can automatically advertise to other units through use of the distributed directory.

  • Publication number: 20090185916
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a piston assembly having a piston housing filled with an electrolyte; a housing within the piston housing that divides the piston housing into a first portion and a second portion, the housing having apertures, a shaft connecting the housing to a piston head outside of the piston housing; and a porous material inside of the housing in contact with the electrolyte. Additionally, there are provided a method for filling the delivery chamber with a delivery fluid by withdrawing the piston head from within the delivery chamber. Yet another embodiment provides a method for filling a fluid delivery assembly by withdrawing a shaft from within the fluid delivery assembly to simultaneously displace a moving pump element within the delivery chamber and bypass fluid around a housing in the pump chamber.
