  • Patent number: 10870601
Abstract: A method of separating a glass web includes the steps of placing the glass web in tension by applying an in-plane tension to the glass web in a tensile direction and producing a region of increased tension on a first major surface of the glass web by imparting a curvature in the glass web. The method further includes separating the glass web along a separation path parallel to an axis of the curvature and transverse to the tensile direction by applying a defect to a portion of the first major surface in the region of increased tension.

  • Patent number: 10869141
Abstract: Methods and apparatus determine the actual state of one or more acoustic valves e.g., whether an acoustic valve is open or closed, in a hearing device. A sensor in the hearing device is configured to generate an output signal indicative of a state of the acoustic valve. An electrical circuit actuates the acoustic valve if the actual state is different than a desired state. The determination of the state of the acoustic valve can be done on the hearing device or on a remote device.

  • Patent number: 10850665
Abstract: A proximity alert system includes a control system. A sensor system operatively associated with the control system detects a presence of an object within a defined sensing region adjacent the vehicle. An annunciator system operatively associated with the control system provides an indication that the object has been detected within the defined sensing region. • Publication number: 20200334623
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for advantageously forecasting an inventory of a product having a particular duration (e.g., video content). The technique can include determining the particular configuration (e.g., maximum number of impressions, maximum amount of time permitted) of breaks identified within an impression log. Based on the number of breaks and the configurations of the breaks, the technique can forecast a future inventory of the product. In some implementations, the disclosed technique can identify an amount of a previous break that was not filled with video content. These forecasts can enable product sellers to better communicate with their customers, negotiate supply contracts, price their products, plan for business operations, etc.

  • Publication number: 20200333501
Abstract: An NMR logging system is disclosed which continues logging without interruption despite switching activation sets to adapt to changes in formation properties. Based on detection of an approaching or encountered geological boundary, an appropriate activation set is transmitted to the downhole NMR tool while the NMR tool continues logging. This system optimizes NMR data collection for each formation and associated formation fluid properties while reducing the need to stop the tool string movement while switching the activation set, and reduces incomplete collection of NMR and non-NMR logging tool data.

  • Publication number: 20200335177
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to systems and methods for pathogen detection using next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis of a sample. Embodiments may apply alignment algorithms (e.g., SNAP and/or RAPSearch alignment algorithms) to align individual sequence reads from a sample in a next-generation sequencing (NGS) dataset against reference genome entries in a classified reference genome database. Embodiments of the present invention may include classifying, filtering, and displaying results to a clinician that can then quickly and easily obtain the results of the sequencing to identify a pathogen or other genetic material in a sample that is being tested. A negative sample and a corresponding database can be used to remove contaminants from a list of candidate pathogens. Thus, embodiments are directed to a system that is configured to filter the results of a sequencing alignment and classify a sample quickly.

  • Patent number: 10746815
Abstract: A mixed-reality system causes a magnetic transmission device to transmit a magnetic field signal. The mixed-reality system also causes a magnetic-field sensing device to determine a measurement of the magnetic field signal. The mixed-reality system then identifies, using one or more input devices, that a magnetically-interfering object is located within a same environment as both the magnetic transmission device and the magnetic-field sensing device. The mixed-reality system also determines one or more characteristics of magnetic field interference that the magnetically-interfering object is imparting on the magnetic transmission device or the magnetic-field sensing device. The mixed-reality system then computes an adjustment to a pose-estimation model based upon the one or more characteristics of magnetic field interference. The pose-estimation model is used to calculate a pose of at least one of the magnetic transmission device or the magnetic-field sensing device.
