  • Patent number: 11905919
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a power generating apparatus for extracting energy from flowing water. The apparatus comprises a buoyancy vessel, and a turbine assembly coupled to the buoyancy vessel which comprises a turbine rotor mounted to a nacelle, and a support structure. The turbine assembly is pivotally moveable between a first position and a second position. When the power generating apparatus is floating on a body of water, in the first position the nacelle is fully submerged below the water surface; and in the second position at least a part of the nacelle projects above the water surface. Movement of the turbine assembly from the first position to the second position is buoyancy assisted, for example by providing the turbine assembly with positive buoyancy or selectively increasing its buoyancy.

Abstract: A data storage system for managing an operation of a solid-state device (SSD) includes the SSD, an adaptor coupled to the SSD via a first bus protocol and including a non-volatile memory storing a power configuration table. The protocol converter is configured to: couple to the adaptor using the first bus protocol, convert first signals of the first bus protocol to second signals for a second bus protocol, and couple to a host using the second bus protocol. The power configuration table includes power profiles for the SSD each corresponding to an interface type for the second bus protocol. The protocol converter is further configured to: determine an interface type of the second bus protocol, read the power configuration table from the non-volatile memory to determine a power profile corresponding to the determined interface type, and cause the SSD to operate using the determined power profile.

  • Patent number: 11902169
Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for latency evaluation and management resolution are provided. A fingerprint for traffic flow over a communication network from an application executing on a device to a multi-access edge (MEC) server instance hosted by a MEC platform may be identified. The fingerprint may be used to track the traffic flow between the application and the MEC server in order to measure round trip time latencies of the traffic flow. In response to a round trip time latency violating a latency management policy, segment latencies along segments of a communication travel path of the traffic flow from the device to the MEC platform may be measured. A management resolution function may be performed based upon one or more of the segment latencies exceeding a threshold.

  • Patent number: 11853227
Abstract: There is provided a data processing apparatus and method of data processing. The data processing apparatus comprises storage circuitry to store a hierarchy of page tables comprising an intermediate level page table. Each entry of the intermediate level page table comprises base address information of a next level page table and control information indicating whether an addressing function has been applied to reorder physical storage locations of entries of the next level page table. Address translation circuitry is provided to perform address translations in response to receipt of a virtual address by performing a lookup in a next level page table dependent on the base address information and a page table index from the virtual address. When the control information indicates that the addressing function has been applied, the lookup is performed at a modified storage location generated by applying the addressing function to the page table index.
