  • Patent number: 8971966
Abstract: A user interface screen includes names stores in a mobile unit device's address book. In order for a user to send an instant message, the user selects a create message display screen, enters a text message using the mobile unit device's keypad, and then selects a recipient (an instant message name) from the address book user interface screen. The instant message routing server checks availability of recipients (instant message names in the stored instant message name list) and sends the results back to the mobile unit device. In a display area, recipients are indicated as signed on the instant message system, or as being signed off the instant message system.

  • Publication number: 20150032831
Abstract: The invention provides a method of transmitting electronic messages in a computer environment. The preferred embodiment receives an electronic message addressed to a telephone number and determines an instant message identifier associated with the telephone number. In response to the determination that an instant message identifier associates with the telephone number, it is further determined whether an instant message receiver is available to receive messages addressed to the instant message identifier. In response to a determination that an instant message receiver is available to receive instant messages addressed to the instant message identifier, the electronic message is forwarded as an instant message addressed to the instant message identifier.

  • Publication number: 20150026283
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for instant message communication in a wireless and non-wireless environment. A message is sent from a mobile unit device over a wireless communication network. The message includes a destination address, information associated with the mobile unit device's user, message content and message address. If, according to information previously stored for the mobile unit device's user at the instant message system, the destination address is associated with an instant message function, the associated instant message function is executed at the instant message system using the information contained in the message content, if required as determined by the associated instant message function.

  • Publication number: 20140199741
Abstract: A process for manufacturing tetrahydrofuran, tetrahydropyran and, more generally, cycloether derivatives through the cyclodehydration of 1,4- or 1,5-diols. More specifically, the process of the invention involves (i) the stereoselective cyclodehydration in water of 1,4- or 1,5-diols including at least one chiral tertiary alcohol functional group with retention of the initial chirality, and/or (ii) the cyclodehydration in water of 1,4- or 1,5-diols, said diols being non-miscible with and/or non-soluble in water, into corresponding cycloether derivatives, by bringing the reaction mixture to high temperature water (HTW) conditions and/or by mixing the aqueous reaction mixture with a solid catalyst, such as for example a smectite clay. Also, the use of the process for manufacturing ambrafuran, especially (?)-ambrafuran and other cycloether derivatives.

  • Publication number: 20130103290
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter provides for traffic analysis employing timed fingerprint location information. In an aspect, TFL information can be associated with location characteristics for a UE. These location characteristics can describe the motion of the UE. As such, with proper analysis, the motion of the UE can be correlated to traffic patterns. Transportation analytics can employ TFL information to provide real time or near real time traffic information, forecast traffic conditions, or automate response to traffic conditions based on TFL information. Whereas TFL can provide advantages over other types of location information systems, leveraging TFL information in traffic analysis can reflect these advantages. Further, whereas TFL information can be gathered from nearly all modern and many legacy mobile devices, large volumes of TFL information can be employed in related transportation analytics.

  • Patent number: 8019363
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for instant message communication in a wireless and non-wireless environment. The invented system includes an apparatus that facilitates conversation with individuals not included in the user's buddy group, non-buddies. The system includes at least one additional routing code reserved for conversing with non-buddies. The first time during a user session that the system receives a message originating from or destined for a non-buddy, before routing the message, the non-buddy's personal identifier is associated with one of the reserved routing codes. The mobile user can then reply to the message using the same automated ‘reply’ function available for replies to buddies. The non-buddy routing code assignment is only for the duration of a user session. When the mobile user signs off from the system, the routing code becomes available for reassignment.
