  • Publication number: 20240122080
Abstract: A superconductor device includes a high superconductivity transition temperature enhanced from the raw material transition temperature. The superconductor device includes a matrix material and a core material. The enhancing matrix material and the core material together create a system of strongly coupled carriers. A plurality of low-dimensional conductive features can be embedded in the matrix. The low-dimensional conductive features (e.g., nanowires or nanoparticles) can be conductors or superconductors. An interaction between electrons of the low-dimensional conductive features and the enhancing matrix material can promote excitations that increase a superconductivity transition temperature of the superconductor device.

  • Publication number: 20240086624
Abstract: A digital display of an active window is provided. An application, separate from the application providing the digital display, is capable of identifying an artifact in the active window of the digital display without a priori knowledge or an application programming interface to the application providing the digital display. The artifacts may be alpha-numeric artifacts or non-alpha-numeric artifacts. The active window may be examined in multiple dimensions including 2 dimensions, 3 dimensions or more. Alpha-numeric artifacts, once identified, are pre-processed to remove anti-aliasing to allow for processor optical recognition.

  • Patent number: 11639604
Abstract: A standing seam metal panel for a roof cover system has upstanding symmetrical sides defining lateral edges. A trough extends between the lateral edges. Each lateral edge comprises an angled portion, a vertical portion, and first and second horizontal portions. The angled portion extends upward and outward from the trough. The vertical portion extends upward from the angled portion and generally perpendicular to the trough. The first horizontal portion extends inward from the vertical portion and generally parallel to the trough. The second horizontal portion extends above, outward from, and generally parallel to the first horizontal portion. The lateral edges are formed by bends in the metal panel that define the portions of the lateral edges. The lateral edges are adapted to form a sidelap with a lateral edge of an adjacent the metal panel in the cover system. The sidelap is formed on panel clips of the cover system.

  • Patent number: 11372531
Abstract: System, method, and computer product embodiments for controlling a display device's display settings from a computing device's touch-based user interface are described. In an embodiment, the computing device establishes a wireless connectivity with the display device. The computing device sends a command generated to query information related to the display setting. Then, the computing device receives the queried information from the display device. The computing device configures a graphical user interface (GUI) with the queried information to display configurations of the display settings on the touchscreen. The configurations include the display settings currently configured in the display device. The computing device further enables, within GUI, a displayed configuration from the display configurations to be calibrated by one or more touch gestures on the touchscreen.

  • Patent number: 6679823
Abstract: A supplemental agent for a hazardous waste composition containing electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) includes potassium magnesium sulfate or a magnesium salt such as magnesium sulfate or magnesium chloride. The supplemental agent when mixed with EAFD and water, along with either lime inherent within the EAFD or added lime, reduces the leaching of heavy metals from the waste composition over a wide range of leaching conditions, including both acidic, neutral, and alkaline environments. The method for reducing the concentration of heavy metals in a leachate from the EAFD involves forming a mixture of EAFD, water, the supplemental agent, and, optionally, ferrous sulfate, along with lime, then permitting the mixture to react.

  • Patent number: 6647112
Abstract: A method of routing a globally-dialed telephone number to a selected customer number including the steps of selecting a geographic country code having an associated international gateway provider and receiving a telephone call having a dial string including the geographic country code and at least one additional identifier number or set of numbers. The telephone call is routed to the originating international gateway provider where a determination is made to direct the call to a database-containing international gateway. The telephone call is compared to the selected numbers in the database and the correct terminating international gateway provider is determined, the telephone call being translated into an international routing number associated with the correct number. The telephone call is then routed to the terminating international gateway provider determined by the international routing number and the telephone call is connected with the terminating service provider.

  • Patent number: 5569152
Abstract: A buffering agent for a cementitious hazardous waste composition, containing electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) and water, includes dolomitic lime, namely either dolomitic quicklime, dolomitic monohydrated lime or dolomitic dihydrated lime. Dolomitic lime serves as a buffering agent for the hazardous waste composition by maintaining the pH of the waste composition within a target range over which solubility of several heavy metals tends to be minimized. These heavy metals include lead, zinc and cadmium, among others, and the pH range within which the heavy metals experience a minimum solubility is approximately 8.5 to 11.5, and preferably 9.4 to 10.2. In addition, dolomitic lime is substantially insoluble in water, so that the buffering agent will not leach or diffuse out of the waste composition.

  • Patent number: 5322389
Abstract: A method for transporting a cementitious mixture to an underground space includes subjecting the mixture to high-shear mixing to render it temporarily flowable and, while the mixture remains in its flowable state, transporting the mixture to the underground space. After a period of time following the high-shear mixing, the mixture reverts to its initial viscosity and subsequently reacts to form a cementitiously hardened product. The mixture used in the present invention includes flue gas desulfurization sludge, lime, fly ash and water.
