  • Patent number: 11977945
Abstract: A card reader prevents a magnetic read head of the card reader from being able to read a magnetic strip of a card and forces the card reader to read card data from an embedded chip of the card instead of the magnetic strip. An electromagnetic noise interference signal is generated and is maintained within the card reader. The signal prevents a magnetic read head of the card reader and any skimmer present within the card reader from reading the magnetic strip of the card. In an embodiment, the signal is generated and maintained as long as the card reader is powered on. In an embodiment, the signal is generated when at least one sensor of the card reader detects a presence of the card proximate to a card slot of the card reader, within the card slot, or within the card reader adjacent to the magnetic read head.

  • Patent number: 11961035
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced geographical caching of estimated arrival times. A method may include receiving respective user inputs indicative of respective users being in transit to a destination location from within a geographic region; determining, for the first user and the second user, a first estimated time of arrival from a first geographical area to the destination location, the first geographical area including the first location and the second location; identifying a third location of the first device at a third time, wherein the third location is within the first geographical area; determining that a time-to-live (TTL) of the first estimated time of arrival has not expired at the third time; and refraining from recalculating the first estimated time of arrival.

  • Patent number: 11951110
Abstract: Described are methods of preparing reduced 3,7-diamino-10H-phenothiazine (DAPTZ) compounds of formula: wherein: R1 and R9 are independently selected from: —H; C1-4alkyl; C2-4alkenyl; and halogenated C1-4alkyl; each of R3NA and R3NB is independently selected from: —H; C1-4alkyl; C2-4alkenyl; and halogenated C1-4alkyl; each of R7NA and R7NB is independently selected from: —H; C1-4alkyl; C2-4alkenyl; and halogenated C1-4alkyl; each of HX1 and HX2 is independently a protic acid; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, and hydrates thereof. These methods are particularly useful for producing stable reduced forms, and with high purity. The stability and purity are especially relevant for pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of disease. The compounds are useful for treatment of e.g. tauopathies, such as Alzheimer's disease, and also as prodrugs for the corresponding oxidized thioninium drugs.

  • Publication number: 20240114326
Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to event-based wireless emergency alerts (“WEAs”). According to one aspect disclosed herein, a WEA-capable device can receive an event-based wireless emergency alert that includes an event code and alert content. The WEA-capable device can parse the event code from the event-based WEA. The WEA-capable device can determine, via execution of an event-based WEA function, a WEA format based upon the event code. The WEA-capable device can then output the alert content in the WEA format. In some embodiments, the event code identifies a weather-related emergency event (e.g., a hurricane or tornado warning). In other embodiments, the event code identifies a non-weather-related emergency event (e.g., a child abduction alert). The WEA format can be an event-specific spoken language, an event-specific symbol, an event-specific haptic feedback, or a combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20240110561
Abstract: There is provided a downhole sucker rod pump comprising: a plunger, a housing including an inner surface, a housing passage defined by the inner surface, and a recess defined within the inner surface of the housing. The plunger and the housing are co-operatively configured such that the plunger is operable for reciprocating movement through the housing passage, with effect that: the plunger traverses a plunger-traversable section of the inner surface of the housing, and solids-comprising reservoir fluid material is displaceable in an uphole direction via the housing passage. At least a portion of the recess is a plunger-traversable recess, and the plunger-traversable recess portion is defined within the plunger-traversable section, the housing passage includes a downhole space disposed downhole relative to the plunger-traversable section, and the plunger-traversable recess portion is disposed in flow communication with the downhole space.

  • Publication number: 20240105802
Abstract: Integrated circuit structures having gate cut plugs removed from trench contacts, and methods of fabricating integrated circuit structures having gate cut plugs removed from trench contacts, are described. For example, an integrated circuit structure includes a vertical stack of horizontal nanowires. A gate electrode is over the vertical stack of horizontal nanowires. A conductive trench contact is adjacent to the gate electrode. A dielectric sidewall spacer is between the gate electrode and the conductive trench contact. A gate cut plug extends through the gate electrode and the dielectric sidewall spacer. The gate cut plug extends into but not entirely through the conductive trench contact.

  • Publication number: 20240086624
Abstract: A digital display of an active window is provided. An application, separate from the application providing the digital display, is capable of identifying an artifact in the active window of the digital display without a priori knowledge or an application programming interface to the application providing the digital display. The artifacts may be alpha-numeric artifacts or non-alpha-numeric artifacts. The active window may be examined in multiple dimensions including 2 dimensions, 3 dimensions or more. Alpha-numeric artifacts, once identified, are pre-processed to remove anti-aliasing to allow for processor optical recognition.

  • Publication number: 20240089741
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for assigning and managing RF communication links between ground-based stations and airborne assets. In one or more examples, a pilot or other user of the systems and methods described herein can generate and transmit a flight plan to a spectrum management system. Additionally, or alternatively, the pilot or use can also transmit additional information to the spectrum management system such as the type of aircraft/radio configuration that they will be using during a flight, and a request for a certain amount of data throughput that they want to have access to during the flight. In one or more examples, upon receiving the flight plan and/or information from the pilot, the spectrum management system can proceed to match the user's desired flight plan with one or more RF spectrum resources for the airborne radio of the pilot's UAV to use during their planned flight.

  • Publication number: 20230267544
Abstract: A regularization-based (RB) hedging tool identifies a recommended hedging portfolio that track a target asset and provides one or metrics indicating a predicted performance of the hedging portfolio relative to the target asset. The RB hedging tool uses a RB hedging model that is trained on price data from an observation period. Initial hyperparameters for the model are selected using asset price data from a validation period and the performance of the model is evaluated by applying it to asset price data from a backtest period. The end-user is presented with one or more metrics indicating the performance of the model and may modify one or more settings (e.g., hyperparameters) of the model. The model is retrained and reapplied to the backtest period, and the metrics are updated. Thus, end-users may tailor the model to their own particular needs and preferences.
