  • Patent number: 9205153
Abstract: The invention relates to the regulation of the immune system, and in particular to the finding that the CLEC9a molecule is a marker for dendritic cells which are capable of cross-presenting extracellular antigens via the MHC class I pathway. This makes them particularly suitable for generation of cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses. Materials and methods are provided both for the induction of immune responses against target antigens, and for the inhibition or suppression of undesirable immune responses in which these cells are involved.

  • Publication number: 20150334926
Abstract: A green or living wall is formed on the external architectural surface. The wall includes a waterproof layer to protect the surface from water and other materials from the living wall, and several plant support components extending horizontally in parallel to each other across the wall. The components include a tubular wall filled with a growth media formed of hydromix and/or potting substrate, one or more layers of a water retaining material and an out support layer. Plants are planted on the plant support components with their plants being imbedded into the growth media. • Patent number: 9072328
Abstract: A hinge mechanism for attaching ear accessories to a helmet allows an accessory to be attached at a point outside the helmet shell utilizing, for example, a slidable mounting rail, and to reach under the edge of the helmet shell so that the accessory is supported in contact with the wearer's head. The hinge mechanism is well suited for use in connection with military helmets that have a “bulge” or protrusion over the ear.

  • Publication number: 20140364337
Abstract: A method for absolute protein or peptide quantitation by mass spectroscopy. A sample containing a protein or peptide of interest is prepared for mass spectroscopy analysis. The sample is subjected to mass spectroscopy analysis at low resolution whereby a single additive mass spectroscopy peak is obtained, then is subjected to high resolution mass spectroscopy analysis whereby a plurality of mass spectroscopy peaks are obtained. The intensity of each of the plurality of mass spectroscopy peaks is quantitated either by comparison to an internal standard set, or by using a standard curve generated for each isotopologue set. Quantitation using a standard curve enhances quantitation across a dynamic range of analyte.

  • Patent number: 8819870
Abstract: A headgear adjustment mechanism is provided that includes a worm having a central axis of rotation, a first headband element, a second headband element, a spur gear, and a housing. The first headband element includes (i) a worm rack disposed in operative engagement with the worm, and (ii) a first pinion rack. The second headband element includes a second pinion rack. The spur gear is disposed in simultaneous operative engagement with the first pinion rack and the second pinion rack, and the housing at least partially encloses the first and second headband elements. During operation of the adjustment mechanism, rotation of the worm about the axis of rotation causes the first headband element and the second headband element to translate in opposite directions with respect to the worm, thereby adjusting a fit of the headgear.
