  • Patent number: 7722071
Abstract: The present invention encompasses several improvements to handcycles. This invention introduces a blend between lean steer and pivot steer. The front wheel may be turned with only minimal twisting of the operator's legs. This invention uses two bearings and quick release axle to connect the front and rear frame together and provide the steering axis. This invention incorporates a means for adjusting the bike from fully reclined to a body forward position. The invention also incorporates a means of crank adjustment. In the embodiment of our new design the cable and housing are attached to the brake and shift levers by means of an intermediate device for the purpose of directing the shift and brake cable away from the rider's field of view.

  • Patent number: 7678084
Abstract: A medication dispensing apparatus having a gear set (64) to provide a mechanical advantage to the plunging of the apparatus plunger (66). The gear set (64) has a first pinion (114) in meshed engagement with a rack of the plunger (102), and a second pinion (126) in meshed engagement with a rack of a drive member (80) of the apparatus. The gear set (64) operatively interconnects the plunger (66) and the drive member (62) such that after the plunger (66) is moved relative to the housing in a proximal direction to prepare the apparatus for injection, the plunger (66), when manually pushed back toward the housing, causes the drive member (62) to advance in a distal direction to force medication through an outlet, typically provided with an injection needle, at the distal end of the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20090253558
Abstract: A method for doing an upper body spinning exercise whereby the operator rotates hand pedals attached to crank arms resulting in the spinning of a wheel for the purpose of exercising the upper body. This may be done in a class or group setting under the direction of an instructor and may be done to the accompaniment of music or verbal direction. The rotation of the wheel may be resisted by a friction or magnetic device and each crank arm engages the wheel independently of the other crank arm such that the operator can pedal with one hand while the other hand rests. The operator may also rotate each pedal at a different cadence than the other pedal. The operator may rotate the pedals such that the orientation of the crank arms is 180 degrees apart, 90 relative to each other or any angle of separation relative to each other.

  • Publication number: 20090063280
Abstract: A request to initiate delivery of content via a messaging services protocol to a mobile phone can be received. Thereafter, content and one or more advertisements associated with the request can be obtained. The content and the one or more advertisements can optionally be converted into a baseline format. The content and the one or more advertisements can be integrated to generate an integrated media file, the integrated media file substantially conforming to content delivery specifications for the mobile phone. Thereafter, delivery of a packet data unit encapsulating the integrated media file to the mobile phone via the messaging services protocol can be initiated. In some variations, the integrated media file can be modified to make it actionable. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

  • Publication number: 20060120830
Abstract: This device is a complete drywall installation machine and finishing platform. It consists of a simple mechanism that raises the sheathing from floor level to the top platform of the machine where it is then raised to the rafters and held securely in place for attachment, by stepping on to the elevated platform to be at the perfect working height to apply fasteners. In it's auxiliary configuration this machine also lifts and places wallboard into position on wall studs for attachment with absolute minimum effort. This machine is portable, mobile, and light weight enough to allow one worker to install drywall up to 12 ft. in lenght to walls and/or ceilings with less effort than is normally exerted by each of 2 or more workers. Once the installation is complete the machine serves as a mobile work platform to do the taping and finishing. The entire process is executed by one worker and requires no addional equipment such as ladders, stilts, or support devices.
