Abstract: A caption translation system is applied in an electronic device equipped with a display unit. The system comprises a controlling module, an obtaining module, a translating module and an integrating module. First, the controlling module issues a command initiating the obtaining module to obtain a caption signal from the original video signal received by the electronic device; the translating module the translates the caption signal obtained by the obtaining module; last, the integrating module integrates the translation result generated by the translating module with the original video signal and delivers it to the display unit for outputting, so as to solve the language difficulties for the audience viewing a non-native language television program or a pre-recorded program such as on a VCD or DVD etc.

  • Publication number: 20060207752
Abstract: A micro liquid cooling device including a radiator, a thermal conductor, an actuator, and a circular path is proposed. The actuator includes a cavity sealed with a thin film, an inlet diffusion port connected to the cavity, an outlet diffusion port connected to the cavity, a magnetic body connected to the thin film, and a pole acting on the magnetic body, such that circulation of a liquid coolant in the circular path can be effected. By such design of the actuator, vibration and noise can be reduced and reliability can be improved, and thus problems caused by the use of a prior-art technique which employs a piezoelectric pump as an actuation source for the liquid coolant can be solved.

Abstract: A television control system and method is proposed. First of all, a first time recording module serves to record time once a television is switched on. Then, a first comparing module serves to compare a result of time recorded by the first time recording module to a first preset time, and send out an actuation signal if the result of time recorded by the first time recording module is longer than the first preset time. Subsequently, a second time recording module serves to record time upon receiving the actuation signal and display a power off message on a display of the television. Finally, a second comparing module serves to compare a result of time recorded by the second time recording module to a second preset time and send out a power off signal to a power off module to switch off power of the television if the result of time recorded by the second time recording module is longer than the second preset time.

  • Publication number: 20060074886
Abstract: A multi-level query system and method can be applied to an information device to perform lookup and translation of a vocabulary of a foreign language. Firstly, a vocabulary to be inquired and translated is inputted via a screen of the information device to the system. Then, the system determines whether there is enough space for storing content from query of the vocabulary, and adjusts an assigned storage node according to the determination result so as to record an assignment condition of the storage node. Subsequently, the system stores the inputted vocabulary and assigns it to a corresponding position according to the storage node as well as displays a definition of the vocabulary. This can achieve multi-level query of continuous chains of vocabularies of a foreign language and also allow the query results to be switched between different levels.

  • Publication number: 20060074663
Abstract: A speech waveform processing system and method which is able to perform a segmentation process for a continuous speech waveform according to predetermined speech parameters is proposed. First of all, an inputted continuous speech signal is read and subsequently preprocessed by the system. Meanwhile, the waveform of the speech signal is displayed. Then, the predetermined parameters for processing the speech waveform and inputted information relevant to the speech signal are stored by the system. Subsequently, a segmentation process is performed for the inputted continuous speech signal according to the predetermined parameters for processing the speech waveform and the inputted information relevant to the speech signal. Further, the waveform of the speech signal acquired after the segmentation process is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20060074690
Abstract: A speech displaying system and method can display playing progress by waveform and synchronously display text of a speech file using rolling subtitles when playing the speech file. After the speech file is loaded via a loading module, a sentence unit determining module partitions content of the speech file into a plurality of sentence units to produce a list of sentence units. A subtitle highlighting speed calculating module calculates a speed of highlighting every single letter or character contained in the subtitles in the sentence unit index for a sentence unit. A subtitle rolling module displays content of the list of sentence units. When the speech file is played, the subtitles in the sentence unit index are clearly marked, and every letter or character of the subtitles is highlighted. A waveform displaying module marks positions of sentence pauses and playing progress on an oscillogram for the speech file by lines.

  • Publication number: 20060074650
Abstract: A speech identification system and method thereof applicable to a data processing device is proposed. An original audio frequency and a recorded audio frequency are stored via a storage unit, and set with sample frequency values using the sample frequency setting mechanism according to the preset value. Then, the original and recorded audio frequencies are transformed into waveform signals, and maximum volumes of the sample frequencies for the original and recorded audio frequencies are analyzed. The absolute values of the original and recorded audio frequencies are calculated and compared to determine an identification result. On the other hand, the original audio frequency is adjusted in a personalized manner by an audio processing mechanism to match user's audio characteristics. With the speech identification system and method thereof, the audio frequency is adjusted according to user's characteristics so as to increase accuracy in speech identification.
