  • Publication number: 20060244709
Abstract: A source driver having a structure of adjusting voltage with speed is suitable for use in a panel displaying apparatus for driving a display array unit. The structure of adjusting voltage with speed has a logic speed monitoring unit, an internal logic voltage generator, a substrate voltage generator, a substrate leakage-current monitoring unit, and a power management control unit. In this manner, by monitoring the logic operation speed of an internal logic circuit in the source driver, in accordance with the change of the operation frequency, the power is dynamically adjusted, so as to optimize a condition between the power consumption and the operation speed. And, in the standby mode, the power consumption is further reduced by adjusting the substrate voltage. Also and, according to the substrate leakage current of the source driver, the substrate voltage can also be adjusted.

Abstract: A method and system for guard interval size and mode detection of a DVB signal. The detection system comprises guard interval detection systems (GIDS), each corresponding to a mode and performing parallel search for the guard interval size based on the OFDM symbol period of the mode. A correlation calculator of a GIDS calculates a correlation signal corresponding to each guard interval size. Characteristics such as maximum value, number of points above a threshold, and a maximum value position in a sample period for each correlation signal are determined and compared, and a valid guard interval size is selected according to the determined characteristics. A mode information combine block retrieves and analyses the detection result from the GIDS.

  • Patent number: 7054639
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for determining the data transmit diversity mode of a base station. The present invention first estimates a first feedback weight of the mobile unit during a first slot. The first feedback weight has a first phase. Then, the present invention estimates a second feedback weight of the mobile unit during a second slot. The feedback weight has a second phase. A phase difference is obtained by comparing the first phase with the second phase. The present invention determines the applicability of closed loop transmit diversity mode according to the phase difference. Besides, if the feedback error rate is too high, the present invention commands the base station to tune off the closed loop transmit diversity for better performance.

  • Publication number: 20050147157
Abstract: A method for performing frame synchronization in a WCDMA system includes first, correlating a received signal with a plurality of predetermined correlators to obtain a plurality of frame synchronization correlation results, then, coherently combining frame synchronization correlation results with a slot synchronization phase when a test phase difference is less than a threshold phase difference, or, coherently combining frame synchronization correlation results with a linear combination of slot synchronization phases when the test phase difference is greater than or equal to the threshold phase difference. The slot synchronization phase is determined by correlating the received signal with a slot synchronization sequence. Lastly, the method determines a frame boundary of the received signal based on the coherent combination results. The method accommodates for a changing signal to noise ratio to improve frame synchronization speed and accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20040258182
Abstract: A wireless system broadcasts data in frames, each frame having F slots. Output from a matched filter is used to combine K slots to generate profile data, where K is less than F. N peak values respectively from n peak positions are selected from the profile data, where n is greater than one. A correlator is employed, together with the n peak positions and S slots subsequent the K slots, to generate n×S correlation values. Respective combination values for the n peak positions are generated by coherently combining the correlation values, and combining the coherent combination results with the non-coherent n peak values. The combination values are respectively used to generate SNR values for each of the n peak positions. The peak position having the best respective SNR value is then selected as a slot synchronization position.

  • Publication number: 20040258041
Abstract: A wireless device generates a peak profile for a primary synchronization channel (PSCH), and has a synchronization stage for performing code group identification and scrambling code identification. A first peak from the peak profile is chosen. The first peak has a first path position and an unknown associated code group number. The synchronization stage is handed the first path position to obtain a first code group number associated with the first peak and a first code number associated with the first peak. A multi-path search window is then opened in the peak profile around the first path position. A second peak within the multi-path search window is selected, and a verification procedure is performed on this second peak to determine if the second peak has a code number that is identical to the first code number. The first code group number is assigned to the second peak if the verification procedure determines that the code number of the second peak is identical to the first code number.
