Publication number: 20210024026Abstract: An airbag assembly includes an airbag having a knee chamber and an upper chamber. A wall fluidly isolates the knee chamber and the upper chamber. A sleeve extends from the knee chamber through the wall to the upper chamber and fluidly communicates the knee chamber and the upper chamber. A one-way vent is in the sleeve. The one-way vent allows for the knee chamber and the upper chamber to be maintained at different relative pressures.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2019Publication date: January 28, 2021Applicant: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: ZHIBING DENG, TZU-CHEN WENG, DEEPAK PATEL

Patent number: 10857966Abstract: A vehicle includes a system including an instrument panel, a knee airbag, and a front airbag assembly. The knee airbag is inflatable downwardly from the instrument panel. The front airbag assembly is inflatable upwardly from the instrument panel. The front airbag assembly may be spaced from a windshield of the vehicle when the front airbag assembly is in the inflated position such that the windshield does not act as a reaction surface for the front airbag assembly, and the front airbag assembly is designed to control the kinematics of the occupant without using the windshield as a reaction surface.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2018Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Zhibing Deng, Alison Callaghan, Tzu-Chen Weng, Krishnakanth E. Patent number: 10697816Abstract: A measuring device for measuring a volume variation of liquid received in a bottle includes a bottle sleeve and a weight detecting module. A first accommodating space, a second accommodating space and a first opening are formed on the bottle sleeve. The first opening is communicated with the first accommodating space. The bottle sleeve is elastic. An inner diameter of at least one portion of the first accommodating space is less than an outer diameter of the bottle. The bottle sleeve holds the bottle when the bottle is inserted into the first accommodating space via the first opening. The weight detecting module is disposed inside the second accommodating space to measure weights of the bottle and the liquid at different time points and to determine the volume variation of the liquid according to a difference of the weights of the bottle and the liquid at different time points.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2017Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: Wistron CorporationInventors: Wen-Hsin Hsiao, Hao-Chen Weng, Shiuan-De Chen, Chien Huang, Chen-Wen Chien, Wei-Kuo Lee, Yen-Kai Chiu

Patent number: 10627279Abstract: A measuring device includes a first body, a second body slidably combined with the first body, a first pressure sensing component, and a control unit. The first body is for supporting a cup receiving liquid. The first pressure sensing component is disposed between the first body and the second body for sensing weight of the cup and the liquid and generating a signal corresponding to the weight. The control unit is electrically connected to the first pressure sensing component. The control unit determines a volume variation of the liquid according to a weight variation of the cup and the liquid calculated based on a difference between signals transmitted from the first pressure sensing component at different time points.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2017Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: Wistron CorporationInventors: Wen-Hsin Hsiao, Hao-Chen Weng, Shiuan-De Chen, Chien Huang, Wei-Kuo Lee

Patent number: 9308842Abstract: A seat assembly including a seat pan that drops vertically in the event of a frontal impact event to help safeguard against the head of an unbelted seat occupant striking the headliner, windshield or other components of the vehicle. The seat assembly includes a seat pan attached to a seat track. The seat track further includes an attachment bracket. A swing linkage movably connects the seat pan with the seat track by a movable fastener. A slot is formed in the bracket through which at least a part of the movable fastener passes. A pyrotechnic fastener also attaches the swing linkage to the bracket. In a frontal impact event, the pyrotechnic fastener is caused to explode thus separating the pyrotechnic fastener into two parts and allowing the swing linkage and its attached seat pan to drop vertically relative to the seat track and lowering the unbelted occupant.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2014Date of Patent: April 12, 2016Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Tzu-Chen Weng, Erika Kristin Low, Djamal Eddine Midoun, Se Kyoon Shin
