    Abstract: The present invention relates to a long-chain dibasic acid with low content of long-chain dibasic acid impurity of shorter carbon chain, to the preparation of a long-chain dibasic acid producing strain by directed evolution of POX gene and homologous recombination, and to the production of a long-chain dibasic acid with low content of long-chain dibasic acid impurity of shorter carbon chain by using the strain. The present invention also relates to a strain containing a mutated promoter, wherein, when a long-chain dibasic acid is produced by fermentation of this strain, the content of the acid impurity of shorter carbon chain in the fermentation product is significantly reduced.

    Abstract: A temperature-controlling water valve is provided. An adjusting assembly is assembled within the water valve and includes an adjusting member, a first elastic member, a blocking member and an abutting member. The first elastic member biases the abutting member, and the blocking member is fixed to the adjusting member to block the abutting member from detaching from a receiving hole of the adjusting member. A temperature-controlling assembly includes a valve member and a second elastic member biasing the valve member. Thermal expansion or contraction of a rod member of the valve member drives the valve member to move so that an overlapping area of the valve member and a first passageway of the water valve and an overlapping area of the valve member and a second passageway of the water valve change.

    Abstract: A distributed storage system including a server is configured to accept a request including a consistency indicator that flags for the server that cross datacenter consistency is desired. The server may be required to detect the consistency indicator and in response, to determine a consistency key based at least in part on the request. In an example aspect, the consistency key may comprise a hash value determined by a hash function shared across datacenters, whereby every datacenter may determine the same consistency key for a given resource and datacenter combination. The server may be further configured to determine a preferred datacenter for handling the request based at least in part on the consistency key, and thereafter to redirect the request to the preferred datacenter. In embodiments, the consistency indicator may also denote a scope of the strong consistency required by the calling client.

    Abstract: Fabricating a vertical-channel junction field-effect transistor includes forming an unintentionally doped GaN layer on a bulk GaN layer by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition, forming a Cr/SiO2 hard mask on the unintentionally doped GaN layer, patterning a fin by electron beam lithography, defining the Cr and SiO2 hard masks by reactive ion etching, improving a regrowth surface with inductively coupled plasma etching, removing hard mask residuals, regrowing a p-GaN layer, selectively etching the p-GaN layer, forming gate electrodes by electron beam evaporation, and forming source and drain electrodes by electron beam evaporation. The resulting vertical-channel junction field-effect transistor includes a doped GaN layer, an unintentionally doped GaN layer on the doped GaN layer, and a p-GaN regrowth layer on the unintentionally doped GaN layer. Portions of the p-GaN regrowth layer are separated by a vertical channel of the unintentionally doped GaN layer.

    Abstract: A magnetic type keyswitch includes an actuating member and a switch unit. The actuating member is movable in response to a pressing force. The switch unit includes a circuit board, a Hall sensor electrically connected to the circuit board, and a magnet spaced apart from the Hall sensor by a fixed distance. When the pressing force is not applied, the magnet enables the Hall sensor to output a first voltage, and when the pressing force is applied, the actuating member moves relative to the magnet and the Hall sensor in response to the pressing force, so that the Hall sensor outputs a second voltage different from the first voltage, and the magnetic type keyswitch generates a triggering signal.

    Abstract: A method for making a hard clear aligner set for stepwise orthodontic treatment is provided. The hard clear aligner set includes plural intermediate aligners made as follows. First, original tooth-row image files corresponding to a patient's teeth are obtained. Tooth arranging software is then used to produce final tooth-row image files by rearranging the teeth in the original tooth-row image files, define the displacements and rotation angles required for the patient's teeth in each step of the treatment, and after computation, produce plural stepwise tooth-row image files. Following that, dedicated software is used to define the surface thickness in each stepwise tooth-row image file, thereby producing shell-like aligner image files corresponding respectively to the intermediate aligners. The shell-like aligner image files are subsequently converted into digital control instructions in order to control a multiaxial carving machine to carve hard clear aligners from hard polymeric modular blocks.

    Abstract: A non-sticking lip tipping paper is disclosed that includes a base paper, a color layer and a surface coating. The color layer is formed by printing and drying a color ink on the base paper; the surface coating includes a water-based glue and is coated thereon after drying the color layer. The water-based glue includes the following components by weight: 30-65 parts of a modified water-based resin solution, 10-20 parts of water, 8-15 parts of ethanol, and 5-12 parts of a water-based additive. The water-based additive is a mixture of a wax emulsion and magnesium silicate in a weight ratio of 1:5. A preparation method and a method of applying the non-sticking lip tipping paper are also disclosed.
