  • Patent number: 6839230
Abstract: A heat-dissipating device of an extractable disk drive capable of being mounted to a mainframe of a personal computer or a servo is disclosed. The extractable disk drive box has a preferred heat dissipating effect. In the present invention, the casing of the disk drive for mounting the extractable disk drive is designed as a large space for convection. Cold air is absorbed from the front end and lateral sides of the disk drive casing and then hot air is exhausted from the rear side so as to have a preferred heat dissipating effect.

  • Publication number: 20040190192
Abstract: A portable disk drive in accordance with the present invention includes a housing made from aluminum alloy. The housing is provided with a front cover having a hook release button mounted thereon. The housing is provided with transparent side panels, which is illuminated when standby. A rear panel integrally formed with a supporting bracket on which a printed circuit board is mounted. The printed circuit board is mounted LED with respect to the transparent side panels. The supporting bracket is provided with a latch, which interlocks with a hook of the hook release button when the support bracket is inserted into the housing. When the portable hard disk drive is electrically connected, the LED illuminates the side panels.

  • Publication number: 20030123220
Abstract: A computer card reader adapting rack is disclosed for installing a card reader so that data can be read from and written to a memory card in the card reader. The computer card reader adapting rack comprises a support seat, a card reading circuit element, a fixing panel, and an upper cover. The support seat is a box having a size like a 3.5 inches floppy disk. A front side of the support seat is fixed with a panel having a memory slot. An upper side of the support seat is fixed with an upper cover. Moreover, the support seat are installed with respective auxiliary frames and the front side of the support seat has a connecting plate has a window for combining the panel, thereby, the computer card reader adapting rack is used at one of 5.25 disk slots and 3.5 inches disk slots.

  • Patent number: 6330528
Abstract: An operating system is simulated to run in conjunction with a native operating system, allowing processes, particularly multi-threaded processes, originally developed for the simulated operating system to be ported to the environment of the native operating system with a minimum of effort. In their natural environment the processes being ported have the capability of requesting that other processes be terminated. This capability is provided in the simulated system and in a multi-threaded environment of the simulated system. Processes executing in the simulated system, even if multi-threaded, also have the capability of protecting against being stopped when executing critical code.

  • Patent number: 6173249
Abstract: An operating system is simulated to run in conjunction with a native operating system, allowing processes originally developed for the operating system being simulated to be ported to the environment of the native operating system with a minimum of effort. In the event a ported process attempts to communicate with a terminated process before the simulated operating system is notified of the termination, the attempt at communication will return an error. In response, a series of checks are performed to determine if the error was the result of termination of the process with which communication was attempted, or a more serious error that should be reported to the native operating system for action to protect the integrity of data.
