Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method which base stations send informational messages to neighbor base stations when conditions change, so that the neighbor base stations can update its database to keep itself current on the parameters (including availability, traffic load, modulation scheme, etc.) to use in effecting efficient base station to base station handoffs. In one embodiment, the receiving base station marks the time of the received message from a neighbor base station and if a new updated message is not received within a time window then the receiving base station assumes that there is a problem with that neighbor.

Abstract: An electrical connector (10) adapted for being mounted onto a printed circuit board (PCB) including a number of vias. The electrical connector includes an insulative housing (200) having a board mounting surface (12), a contact module (400) assembled to the insulating housing (200) and including a number of conductive terminals (403), and a positioning fixer (300) mounting to the conductive terminals. Each of the conductive terminals includes a pin end extending beyond the mounting surface for being inserted into one of the PCB vias. The position fixer (300) has a plurality of through holes (301) each retaining to a corresponding pin end (405) prior to the position fixer (300) being moved up to the mounting surface when the electrical connector is mounted to the PCB.

The phenol and formaldehyde are present in a molar ratio of 1.5 to 3.4 moles formaldehyde to 1 mole phenol and are 40 to 85% of the total solids added to the mixture. In one embodiment they are 50 to 75% of the total solids added to the mixture. The alkaline metal hydroxide or carbonate are 5 to 20% of the total solids added to the mixture. Urea is 5 to 35% of the total solids added to the mixture. The degraded lignin is 5 to 20% of the total solids added to the mixture. A method for making the resin and a product using the resin.

Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting radiation for example, terahertz radiation, with the aid of acoustic signal generation and detection include: directing an optical beam into a volume of gas; ionizing at least a portion of the volume of gas with the optical beam to produce a plasma; and detecting an acoustic signal produced from an interaction of a radiation wave with the plasma. The methods and systems are particularly adapted for remote detection of chemicals, biological substances, and explosives, among others. The capability of the methods and systems can be enhanced by employing multi-color laser excitation to produce the plasma and varying the time delay between the multi-color pulses.

Abstract: A biosensor for determining the concentration of an analyte in a biological sample. The biosensor comprises a support, a reference electrode or a counter electrode or both disposed on the support, a working electrode disposed on the support, the working electrode spaced apart from the other electrode or electrodes on the support, a covering layer defining a sample chamber over the electrodes, an aperture in the covering layer for receiving a sample, and at least one layer of mesh in the sample chamber between the covering layer and the electrodes. The at least one layer of mesh has coated thereon a silicone surfactant. Certain silicone surfactants are as effective as fluorinated surfactants with respect to performance of biosensors. These surfactants, when coated onto the mesh layer of the biosensor, are effective in facilitating the transport of aqueous test samples, such as blood, in the sample chamber.

The first rotary member is connected to and rotated by the power source. The clamping mechanism is non-rotatably connected to the first rotary member and includes a first clamping member and a second clamping member capable of coupling to and decoupling from the first clamping member. The first clamping member and the second clamping member are coupled to each other. A receptacle is defined between the first clamping member and the second clamping member to receive the workpiece. The receptacle has a shape and size substantially the same as the workpiece.
