    Abstract: An experiment design is determined for a plurality of physical experiment entities, based on a training loss that is dependent on a critic function and an action parameter individually associated with each physical experiment entity, with the aim of increasing (e.g., optimizing) information gain with respect to a plurality of test entities. The training loss encodes a predicted information gain between a predicted experiment outcome and a predicted test quantity. The predicted experiment outcome associated therewith is sampled from a joint probability distribution based on an entity context. A numerical output is computed using the critic function applied to the predicted experiment outcome and the predicted test quantity.

    Abstract: A method of training a model comprising a generative network mapping a latent vector to a feature vector, wherein weights in the generative network are modelled as probabilistic distributions. The method comprises: a) obtaining one or more observed data points, each comprising an incomplete observation of the features in the feature vector; b) training the model based on the observed data points to learn values of the weights of the generative network which map the latent vector to the feature vector; c) from amongst a plurality of potential next features to observe, searching for a target feature of the feature vector which maximizes a measure of expected reduction in uncertainty in a distribution of said weights of the generative network given the observed data points so far; and d) outputting a request to collect a target data point comprising at least the target feature.

A catalyst charge in the present coke control reactor can be automatically adjusted, and an average residence time of a catalyst in the coke control reactor can be controlled by changing process operating conditions.

    Abstract: A locking mechanism comprises a main body, an ejector rod, a guide rod assembly, a carrier plate and a fixing assembly. The carrier plate comprises a center hole and a plurality of annular strip holes. The fixing assembly comprises a rotary disc. The center hole and the annular strip holes can lock the rotary disc in different rotation angles. The guide rod assembly limits the rotation tolerance of the carrier plate, and makes the carrier plate move up and down in the vertical direction. The rotary disc with limited rotational freedom is fixedly connected with the ejector rod, so that the locking mechanism can not only realize the linear lifting motion of the ejector rod, but also reduce the rotation angle error between the carrier plate and the ejector rod. A rotating lifting platform is also provided.
