  • Publication number: 20050009195
Abstract: Disclosed is a hand-held device for analyzing the alcohol content found in expelled respiratory gas, the device comprising an outer analyzer housing, a gas analysis and readout assembly, and a control circuit. The expulsion of respiratory gas into the device rotates a fan member. The number of revolutions of the fan member generates a revolution signal that is compared to a predetermined revolution value programmed into the control circuit. When the comparison generates a positive result, alcohol detecting means sample and test the respiratory gas passing through the device. The device thus forces the user to expel so-called low-lung, residual respiratory gas, which gas typically comprises more accurate levels of alcohol as compared to the consumer's blood alcohol content. If the comparison results in a negative signal, the user is prompted to repeat the procedure until a reading of low-lung respiratory gas has been acquired.

  • Publication number: 20040223418
Abstract: A track jump apparatus for accessing an optical record medium and the position detection method thereof. The track jump apparatus moves the light spots of the laser beam from the current track to the object track. The track cross velocity and position are stably and precisely controlled during the track jump operation. When pulling in, the track cross velocity is controlled within the control band of the track servo loop, and the stability of the track servo loop is not affected. With track position detection, the apparatus adopts a hybrid track detection method, which generates the track position according to the linear area of a tracking error signal and a focus sum signal.

  • Patent number: 6591061
Abstract: A humidifier includes a base defining an evaporation cavity, a water supply is supported on the base and has a discharge opening communicating with the evaporation cavity and is adapted to maintain a given level of water therein. A humidification unit is removably mounted on the base and includes a heating element projecting into the cavity with a wicking sleeve surrounding the element and into the cavity to wick water therefrom. Energization of the heating element causes evaporation of the water that has been wicked from the cavity. The resulting vapor is discharged through an exhaust grill above the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20030100265
Abstract: A signal jitters detection system and its correction method are disclosed to detect minute time intervals (called “jitters”) between a clock signal and the upper and lower ends of a high-speed data stream. The system uses an optical head to read out an approximate relation between the amplitude variation and time variation of a radio frequency (RF) signal around the central level of an analog RF signal. Such a voltage difference is equalized as a time difference to obtain signal the jitters.

  • Patent number: 6554509
Abstract: A cross type supporter mounting system for a notebook computer keyboard comprises: a first platform for placing a computer keyboard and movable along an approximate horizontal direction; a second platform movable along a vertical direction and being positioned above the first platform; and a press plate installed between the first platform and the second platform. Thereby, by the pressure of the machining table with the operation of a press plate having a special pattern and cylinders, the last two steps in the assembling process is automatized. Therefore, the labor in the assembling process is reduced. Yield ratio is increased and the cost is decreased.
