In one embodiment, the TxRU carrier switch is configured as supplementary uplink (SUL)-based carrier switch with supplementary carriers or configured as a CA-based carrier switch with supplementary cells. The second-stage DCI indicates second scheduling information associated with one or more carriers or cells or indicates non-scheduling information associated with one or more features. The apparatus may perform a DCI decoding according to the DCI size budget and perform a PDSCH reception or a PUSCH transmission with at least one cell based on the DCI. The first DCI includes a common bit field, a first specific bit field and a plurality of designated bit fields corresponding to the cells, the second DCI includes the common bit field, a second specific bit field and a first part of the designated bit fields, and the third DCI includes a second part of the designated bit fields.

    Abstract: A method of UE power profile adaptation to traffic and UE power consumption characteristics based on power profile is proposed. In one preferred embodiment, hybrid of bandwidth part (BWP) and power profile is proposed. UE is configured with multiple BWPs and each BWP includes a set of power profiles. Two types of adaptation triggering can be used, a first type of trigger is based on power saving signals sent from the network, and the second type of trigger is based on timers. When the traffic characteristic for UE changes, the network can send a power saving signal to UE to trigger power profile adaptation, e.g., BWP+power profile switching. When traffic has been digested and becomes sporadic, then power profile adaptation can be triggered based on timers, e.g., a timer for BWP adaptation and another timer for power profile adaptation.

    Abstract: A method of providing early paging indication (PEI) for power consumption enhancements in a 5G/NR network is proposed. Under the novel paging reception procedure with PEI, UE can skip PO monitoring if PEI indicates negative. The UE main receiver is typically turned on in every paging cycle, for LOOP, MEAS, and PEI reception. However, if PEI indicates no paging, then UE can turn off its main receiver right after performing measurements. Since PEIs are always transmitted and are located near synchronization signal block (SSB) bursts, power saving can be achieved not only for PO monitoring but also for light sleep between the last SSB/PEI and the PO monitoring gap and state transitions, when no UE in the UE group is paged.

After receiving the PUCCH SCell activation command for the unknown target PUCCH SCell, the UE may transmit a layer 1 (L1) report or a layer 3 (L3) report for the unknown target PUCCH SCell to the network node before the unknown target PUCCH SCell is activated. Then, the network node may perform corresponding operations based on the L1 report or the L3 report before the unknown target PUCCH SCell is activated.

The UE performs BWP switching for the serving cell in response to the DCI format. The UE stops transmission or reception in the serving cell during a time duration from a slot containing a last symbol of the DCI format, wherein the time duration includes a first period of time of delay for the BWP switching and a second period of time of interruption to other active serving cells.

The UE initiates a RF chain of the UE configured for the secondary cell in an interruption period. The UE receives, in response to receiving the trigger and in accordance with the scheduling information, the set of aperiodic TRSs on the secondary cell prior to receiving an initial SSB or an initial periodic TRS after the interruption period. The UE performs time and frequency tracking on the secondary cell based on the set of aperiodic TRSs.
