  • Patent number: 7448788
Abstract: A backlight module includes a light guide plate and a light source. The light guide plate includes a first end portion, a second end portion, a middle portion between the first and second end portions, a top face extending from the first end portion to the second end portion, a bottom face extending from the first end portion to the second end portion, a light entrance face interconnecting the top and bottom faces at the first end portion, and a plurality of prismatic strips formed on the bottom face. The prismatic strips have a lower density at the first end portion as compared to the middle portion. The density is defined as a total length of the prismatic strips per unit area of the bottom face. The light source is disposed adjacent to the light entrance face.

  • Publication number: 20070086214
Abstract: A surface light source apparatus including a lamp reflector, a light guide plate, a transparent support member and a light source is provided. The lamp reflector includes a bottom surface and a light emitting cross-section opposite to the bottom surface. The light guide plate has a light incident surface and is adjacent to the light emitting cross-section of the lamp reflector, which is disposed by one side of the lamp reflector. The transparent support member is disposed inside the lamp reflector, and leans against the bottom surface of the lamp reflector and the light incident surface of the light guide plate. The light source is disposed inside the transparent support member, such that the light source avoids the damage form the collision by the shifting light guide plate under the protection of the transparent support member.
