Publication number: 20120174526Abstract: The present invention discloses a waterproof cladding method for a floor connector. A floor connector is first put between floor panels, a Y-shaped cladded connector is inserted into the floor connector and then glued, and next RC grouting is executed between floor panels. After that, excessive useless parts at an upper opening portion of the Y-shaped cladded connector are cut out, and then a tube unit is inserted, followed by cladding on the upper opening portion of the Y-shaped cladded connector with a waterproof material. By a design of the Y-shaped funnel-like cladded connector, similar to a letter Y in a side cutaway view, an obtuse angle is formed between tubing and floor concrete to increase a contact area among the tubing, floor concrete and waterproof material, thereby having an advantage of easy implementation.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2011Publication date: July 12, 2012Inventor: Chih-Feng HSU

Publication number: 20100159981Abstract: A method and system for using an image sensor to control applications on a mobile device is disclosed. The system uses image processing to detect control gestures by the user. Control gestures may include, for example, moving a hand laterally, moving the hand closer or farther away from the camera, or opening and closing a hand. These control motions are linked to user commands to be executed by the application being controlled. The system initializes by storing a background image showing the field of view of the image sensor before any objects are present. It then detects new objects in the field of view by comparing new images to the background image. If a new object is detected, the system waits until the object is stationary in the field of view. After the object is stationary, the system detects if there is a change in the object indicating a control gesture.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2008Publication date: June 24, 2010Inventors: Ching-Liang Chiang, Chih-Feng Hsu, Wen-Chi Chang

Publication number: 20100159908Abstract: A system for reconfiguring a mobile device based on environmental input is disclosed. The mobile device uses various components, including camera, microphone, and accelerometer, to gather data about the local environment. The system uses these components, separately or together, to determine the level of activity of the local environment. If the system determines that there is little activity in the local environment for a specified period of time, it enters low presence mode. In low presence mode, the system reconfigures the mobile device. The reconfiguration may include pausing or stopping applications, changing the device's volume settings, redirecting incoming telephone calls or text messages, or deactivating individual hardware components.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2008Publication date: June 24, 2010Inventors: Wen-Chi Chang, Chih-Feng Hsu, Kuo-Chen Wu, Chin-Chung Shih
