  • Publication number: 20040124423
Abstract: A method of fabricating an active matrix organic light emitting diode display is described. A substrate having a light-emitting region and a non-light-emitting region thereon is provided, and pixel structures have been formed in the light-emitting region. A driving IC is formed on the substrate in the non-emitting region and electrically coupled with the pixel structures. A packaging cap is disposed over the substrate and adhered to the substrate. The packaging cap covers the emitting region of the substrate and the driving IC remains being exposed. Since the driving IC is exposed from the packaging cap, the driving IC can be tested or repaired directly when the driving IC is abnormal.

  • Publication number: 20040126908
Abstract: A method of fabricating an active matrix organic light emitting diode display is described. A substrate having an emitting region and a non-emitting region thereon is provided. Pixel structures are formed on the substrate in the emitting region, and a power line electrically connected with the pixel structures is formed on the substrate in the non-emitting region at the same time. Then, a cap is deposited above the substrate and bonded with the substrate. The cap covers the emitting region of the substrate and the power line. Since the power line is designed inside the cap, the cap can protect the power line from damage of the outside environment thus improving the lifetime of the display.

  • Publication number: 20040125055
Abstract: An organic light emitting display has a plurality of pixels and an external power line. The external power line diverts into a number of internal power lines connected to the pixels, and the internal power lines are segmented into at least two discontinuous parts. Electric current thereby flows in a smaller amount through the internal power lines to reduce power dissipation.

  • Patent number: 6677713
Abstract: A driving circuit for a light-emitting device, having a driving, a first and a second transistor, and a maintaining capacitor. The light-emitting device is coupled to the driving transistor in series to form a light-emitting path. The on/off state of the driving transistor determines the conductance and on/off state of the light-emitting path. The first transistor has a source region coupled to the gate of the driving transistor and a gate coupled to a first scan line. The second transistor has a source region coupled to a reference low voltage, a drain region coupled to the gate of the driving transistor, and a gate coupled to a second scan line. The pulses of the first and second scan lines have the same frequency, while there is a delay time therebetween. The maintaining capacitor is coupled to the gate of the driving transistor to maintain a voltage state.

  • Publication number: 20030197665
Abstract: A driving circuit design for a display device. This invention uses the voltage-driven circuit of a conventional TFT-LCD such that the pixel is capable of outputting a different driving current to each OLED having a characteristic red, green or blue coloration under identical data voltage conditions. Different driving currents are produced by adjusting channel width/length ratio of the TFT driver in each pixel. Consequently, an appropriate luminance ratio between red, green and blue lights may be set to reproduce white light through the red, green and blue OLED and hence attain full coloration.
