  • Patent number: 11924911
Abstract: An access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) and a non-AP station (STA) MLD perform a fast initial link setup (FILS) procedure to establish wireless communications over a plurality of links. The AP MLD and the non-AP STA MLD communicate over one or more links of the plurality of links upon completion of the FILS procedure with a FILS Discovery frame transmitted in the FILS procedure indicating whether a service set identifier (SSID) of the AP MLD is different from a SSID of an AP of a plurality of APs in the AP MLD transmitting the FILS Discovery frame.

  • Publication number: 20240073773
Abstract: Various techniques and schemes pertaining to extremely-high throughput (EHT) multi-link maximum channel switching in wireless communications are described. A station (STA) multi-link device (MLD) receives an indication from a reporting access point (AP) affiliated with an AP MLD on one link of multiple links. The STA MLD determines a channel switching time when a reported AP switches from operating in a current channel of the reported AP to operating in a new channel on one other link of the multiple links based on the indication.

  • Publication number: 20240073972
Abstract: Various techniques and schemes pertaining to primary link identification schemes in wireless communications are described. An access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) establishes a plurality of links, the plurality of links comprising a primary link and a non-primary link that constitute a non-simultaneous-transmission-and-reception (NSTR) link pair. An AP affiliated with the AP transmits a beacon frame with an indication on whether or not the AP or a reported AP is affiliated with an NSTR AP MLD and is operating on the primary link of the NSTR link pair.

  • Patent number: 11917551
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are drawn to methods and electronic devices capable of performing coordinate spatial reuse for wirelessly transmitting data on a channel in coordination with another wireless AP operating an overlapping BSS using the same wireless channel. The device can perform RSSI measurements and generate Per-RU RSSI reports including the RSSI measurements information for transmission to another wireless AP. The RSSI measurement can be performed by the device based on power levels detected when receiving TB PPDUs transmitted by wireless STAs responsive to trigger frames, for example. Based on the Per-RU RSSI report, a wireless AP can be configured to transmit data to an associated wireless STA without causing significant interference when another AP of the overlapping BSS is also transmitting, and can schedule frames for transmission from associated wireless STAs accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20240064834
Abstract: Various techniques and schemes pertaining to ultra-high reliability (UHR) multi-link direct link operation in wireless communications are described. A first non-access point (non-AP) multi-link device (MLD) establishes multiple links as multi-link direct links with a second non-AP MLD. The first non-AP MLD also maintains a multi-link association with an AP MLD. • Publication number: 20240064809
Abstract: Various techniques and schemes pertaining to extremely-high throughput (EHT) ultra-high reliability (UHR) dynamic multi-link switching in wireless communications are described. A first access point (AP) affiliated with a first AP multi-link device (MLD) switches from operating on a first link to operating on a second link in a multi-link operation responsive to detecting the first link as busy. Then, the first AP transmits data to a first station (STA) affiliated with a first STA MLD during a transmission opportunity (TXOP) on the second link. The AP switches back to operating on the first link upon expiry of a period during which the first link is busy.

  • Patent number: 11889435
Abstract: A first apparatus communicates with a second apparatus via a first link in a first frequency band and via a second link in a second frequency band different than the first frequency band by performing operations. For example, the first apparatus performs an independent enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) on each of the first link and the second link. Then, the first apparatus obtains a transmit opportunity (TXOP). Next, the first apparatus synchronizes a starting time and/or an ending time of a transmission and a reception on the first link and the second link to avoid causing an in-device coexistence (IDC) interference due to the transmission and the reception occurring simultaneously. Alternatively, the first apparatus refrains from transmitting and receiving on the first link and the second link simultaneously to avoid causing the IDC interference.

  • Patent number: 11882596
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are drawn to electronic systems that perform EHT operations for a wireless network supporting a 160+160 MHz/320 MHz operating mode. RTS/CTS frame exchange sequences and TXOP truncation can be performed using punctured preambles according to subchannels indicated in a bitmap subfield (e.g., an Allowed Bitmap Subfield). Preamble puncturing is supported for EHT PPDUs transmitted to multiple STAs using MU-RTS/MU-CTS frames transmitted in non-HT duplicate PPDUs. Preamble puncturing is also supported for an EHT PPDU transmitted to a single STA. The RTS and CTS frames can be sent in a non-HT duplicate PPDU with preamble puncturing, for example.

  • Patent number: 11882625
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are drawn to electronic systems capable of transmitting a group addressed frame that identifies an MLD according to an MLD MAC address. The group addressed frame can include an ARP request, for example, and can be transmitted by an AP MLD responsive to an individually addressed frame transmitted by a non-AP STA MLD associated with the AP MLD. The AP MLD can provide a proxy ARP service for associated non-AP STA MLDs.

  • Patent number: 11877321
Abstract: A multi-link device (MLD) monitors each of first and second links in a multi-link operation in wireless communications, with the first link being a primary link and the second link being a secondary link. The MLD obtains a transmission opportunity (TXOP) on one of the first link and the second link as a result of performing a contention-based channel access on the first link and the second link. The MLD checks channel status of the other of the first link and the second link. The MLD then transmits one or more frames on the first link but not on the second link, on the second link but not on the first link, or on both the first link and the second link synchronously, responsive to the channel status of the other link given the TXOP being obtained on the one of the first link and the second link.

  • Publication number: 20230354015
Abstract: An encryption mechanism used on cooperative multi-band wireless STA architecture that enables full duplex operations. In encrypting a frame, an AAD can be constructed by using a selected MAC address, which may not be associated with a band to be used for transmitting the frame in an upcoming TXOP. An STA that supports simultaneous transmission in a multi-band operation uses the same MAC address to encrypt the frames to be transmitted on different bands. An AAD is constructed by using a same MAC address corresponding to one of the transceivers. A transmit STA may specify band information used for encryption in the MAC header, which serves to signal the receive STA to decrypt the frame by using the proper information.

  • Publication number: 20230345534
Abstract: Techniques pertaining to transmission protection with static puncturing in wireless communications are described. An apparatus (e.g., a station (STA)) receives a control frame with bandwidth signaling that is transmitted in a channel width of the control frame including one or more non-punctured non-primary subchannels within the channel width. The apparatus then determines the one or more non-punctured non-primary subchannels within the channel width of the control frame and also determines whether to transmit a response control frame responsive to receiving the control frame. Depending on a result of the determining, the apparatus either refrains from transmission of the response control frame or transmits the response control frame in at least one subchannel within the channel width of the control frame.
