  • Publication number: 20100029136
Abstract: A card connector is disclosed that includes an insulating housing and a plurality of contacts. The insulating housing defines a plurality of contact slots. Each of the contact slots extends outwardly and laterally from two opposite side edges thereof to form two resisting protrusions respectively, wherein each of the resisting protrusions forms a resisting surface extending obliquely and inwardly from one side thereof. The contacts are respectively received in the contact slots of the insulating housing. Each of the contacts has a contact portion protruding upwardly for being pressed by a card and the contact portion is connected with a bearing portion resisting against the resisting surface for preventing the contact portion from flipping upwardly out of the insulating housing.

  • Patent number: 7618273
Abstract: A memory card connector adapted for selectively receiving one of a first and second types of cards therein. It includes a dielectric housing having a base and at least four surrounding walls disposed at circumference of the base. The base and the four surrounding walls define a recess therebetween in combination. A plurality of terminals is positioned in the recess of the dielectric housing. At least one resilient element is positioned in the recess of the dielectric housing. The resilient element is such that it can be elastically pressed downwardly by the first type of the card during insertion of said type of the card and thus is retracted in the base or urge against an edge of the second type of the card during insertion of the second card. The memory card connector of the present invention has a relatively small size and can selectively receive the first and second types of the cards.

  • Patent number: 7547220
Abstract: A memory card connector mountable onto a printed circuit board for receiving at least one kind of memory card includes an insulating housing and a shielding shell covering the insulating housing to define a receiving chamber therebetween. The shielding shell has a contacting end at a side thereof. A detecting terminal is received in a side of the insulating housing, the detecting terminal has a soldering portion adapted for electrically connecting to the printed circuit board, a resilient conductive portion adjacent to the contacting end of the shielding shell, and a resilient contact portion extending towards the receiving chamber and capable of moving outwards resiliently to push the resilient conductive portion to electrically contact the contacting end of the shielding shell.

  • Publication number: 20080254658
Abstract: A memory card connector includes a housing, a plurality of terminals and a cover. The housing consists of a bottom wall, a front wall, a back wall and a pair of side walls and defines a plurality of slots therein. A receptacle is formed among the walls. The terminals are received in the corresponding slots. The cover is pivotally mounted to the housing, having a top member. At least one pressed component is arranged on the top member. The pressed component includes a pair of opposite spring arms, one end of the spring arms connects with the top member, and the other is stamped individually to form a pair of inclined arms on the top member. The inclined arms joint together by a protruding joint portion, which presses down a memory card. Therefore, a firmly electrical connection between the memory card and the terminals is established.

  • Patent number: 7156679
Abstract: The present invention provides a module connector including a housing having four sidewalls that define a chamber for receiving a module therein. Each sidewall defines a plurality of contact recesses. A plurality of contacts is accommodated in the contact recesses and electrically contacts with the module. Pull-out prevention slices are positioned on periphery of the housing. Each pull-out prevention slice has a pressing portion which extends into the chamber and presses on the top of the module downwardly, and an actuating portion which extends upwardly from the pressing portion and is adapted for being manually pulled outward. When the module is needed to be pulled out from the module connector, by pulling the actuating portion outward, the pressing portion is driven to move outward and upwardly with the result that the pressing portion departs from the module to make way to the module for the module being pulled out. Therefore, no special tool is needed, in turn, the module is avoided being scraped.

  • Patent number: 7077664
Abstract: A module connector includes an insulated component, a plurality of contacts inside the module connector and a housing shell outside of the module connector. The insulated component has four sidewalls that define an inserting space to receive another module. Each sidewall has a plurality of contacts parallel L-shaped slots to accommodate the contacts that are electrically connected with the outside module. The housing shell has four side containing walls. A pressing pin and an elastic pin are extended from the top of each side-containing wall towards the inserting space. The pressing pins prop downwardly the outside module.

Each sidewall defines a plurality of contact recesses. A plurality of contacts is accommodated in the contact recesses and electrically contact with the module. A pivotal cover has a top pressing cover, at least a pivotal arm and at least a locking claw extending downwardly from the top pressing cover. The pivotal arm pivotally mounts the pivotal cover on the housing to enable the pivotal cover to pivot between an open position to enable the module to be inserted in the chamber and a closed position with the top pressing cover pressing downwardly on the top of the module to prevent the module from being pulled out. The locking claw latches the pivotal cover in the closed position.
