  • Patent number: 6919941
Abstract: A backlight module mainly includes a housing and a lamp. The lamp is disposed in the housing and includes two conductive terminals extending from two ends of the lamp and each connected with one of two wires. The present invention is characterized in that the backlight module has an engaging portion provided on the housing for fastening the two wires such that any external stress to which the wires are subjected can be transmitted to the engaging portion rather than concentrates in the joints between the wires and the conductive terminals of the lamp. The present invention further provides a liquid crystal display device utilizing the backlight module.

  • Publication number: 20040179150
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a housing, a backlight module, a liquid crystal panel and a frame. The frame is coupled to the housing thereby assembling the liquid crystal panel and the backlight module into the liquid crystal display device. The present invention is characterized by providing a novel fastening structure for coupling the frame to the housing. The fastening structure includes an engaging portion provided on the housing and two protrusion portions defined by a L-shaped aperture provided on the frame, wherein the engaging portion is provided at a position corresponding to the L-shaped aperture. The two protrusion portions of the frame are respectively inserted into recesses of the engaging portion of the housing and abut against the engaging portion.

  • Patent number: 6760083
Abstract: A metal backing plate structure for a liquid crystal display module is applied to a module type that has the backing plate mounted inner to a plastic frame thereof. The metal backing plate is pressed from a metal sheet and includes at least an improved side. The side is characterized by a ground protrusion with a predetermined length bent from the sheet. When the backing plate is assembled to the plastic frame, the ground protrusion penetrates through an aperture of the plastic frame for further contacting with a shield rim of a metal outer frame of the module. Thereby, an electrical connection between the outer frame and the metal backing plate can be directly established.
