    Abstract: A nano-twinned structure on a metallic thin film surface is provided. The nano-twinned structure includes a substrate, an adhesive-lattice-buffer layer over the substrate, and a metallic thin film including Ag, Cu, Au, Pd or Ni over the adhesive-lattice-buffer layer. The bottom region of the metallic thin film has equi-axial coarse grains. The surface region of the metallic thin film contains parallel-arranged high-density twin boundaries (?3+?9) with a pitch from 1 nm to 100 nm. The quantity of the parallel-arranged twin boundaries is 50% to 80% of the total quantity of twin boundaries in the cross-sectional view of the metallic thin film. The parallel-arranged twin boundaries include 30% to 90% [111] crystal orientation. The nano-twinned structure on the metallic thin film surface is formed through a post-deposition ion bombardment on the evaporated metallic thin film surface after the evaporation process.

The gain circuit gains a signal from the input terminal according to a bias voltage and outputs a gained signal. The PLL circuit generates a correction signal through synchronization according to the reference clock. The post-processing circuit obtains an input signal strength according to a correction table and a signal from a receiving terminal of the post-processing circuit. The switching circuit couples the correction signal to the input terminal and the gained signal to the return terminal in test mode and couples the input port to the input terminal and the gained signal to the receiving terminal in an operating mode.

The coil is made of resistance alloy. The pitch size of the coil is made to precisely trap/filter out certain size of the particles during preconcentration. Multiple coils could be made with different pitch sizes to achieve multiple step filtrations. When the sample flow enters the preconcentrator chamber, it passes through the coils. The particles of different sizes are trapped on different layer of coils. The vapor sample can be trapped on any coils when interacted with the coil surface. They could be trapped without any affinitive coating as the preconcentrator is at relatively low temperature. Different coils or different sections of the coil can be coated with different material to trap chemicals of different classes.
