Abstract: The present disclosure provides a host electronic device including a main operating circuit, a first peripheral bus, an interface circuit, a second peripheral bus, and a conversion device. The interface circuit is coupled between the second peripheral bus and a host computer for receiving an external command form the host computer through a transmission protocol compatible with a first interface. The conversion device is coupled between the first and the second peripheral bus including an external virtual adapter, an internal virtual adapter, and a network channel. Furthermore, the conversion device encodes and decodes the external command, and produces a decoded external command. A processor of the main operating circuit executes the decoded external command, such that the main operating circuit implements a corresponding operation.

Abstract: A geotextile container has a bag section, a cover section and a stuffing space. The bag section has a bag cloth, a bag non-woven fabric and a trapezoidal longitudinal section. The cover section is integrally connected with the bag section and has a cover cloth and a cover non-woven fabric. The stuffing space is formed inside the bag section and has a first margin portion. A longitudinal section of the stuffing space is trapezoidal. The first margin portion is formed at a side of a bottom of the stuffing space. The first margin portion can be immediately unfolded and contain filling materials once the geotextile container is projected into the sea.

Abstract: The instant disclosure relates to a television signal receiver having signal switching capability between the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and the Digital Visual Interface (DVI) signal. In particular, a television signal receiver using a mechanical signal selection unit to switch between the HDMI and DVI connectors, for receiving matching input digital signal, is disclosed.

Abstract: A touch panel is provided. The touch panel comprises a frame, a touch pad module, a pad and a film. The frame has a compartment for receiving the touch pad module. The pad is disposed between the frame and the touch pad module in the compartment. Wherein, the frame, the touch pad module and the pad substantially at the same horizontals so that the film can be stacked onto the frame, the pad and the touch pad module flatly.

Abstract: A point-of-sale (POS) system includes a POS host, a plurality of client devices, and a wireless transmission device. The wireless transmission device includes a host-end wireless communication module coupled to the POS host, and a plurality of client-end wireless communication modules coupled respectively to the client devices. The POS host is operable to configure the host-end wireless communication module for generating a plurality of virtual COM ports. Each of the virtual COM ports is matched with a respective one of the client-end wireless communication modules, such that the POS host is able to communicate wirelessly with the client devices through the host-end wireless communication module and the client-end wireless communication modules.

Abstract: A linking system automatically sets communication protocol and station numbers for multiple consoles. One console is set as master console and the remaining consoles are set as slave consoles. Each console comprises a serial input end, a serial output end and a master/slave communication end. The serial output end of one slave console is connected to the serial input end of a next console to form a console series, while the master/slave communication ends of all consoles are in parallel connection. The master console sends communication protocol data to all slave consoles to set up the slave consoles. The first slave console generates a serial number of one and sends the serial number to next slave console. The serial number is added by one in the next slave console. This process is performed for each slave console and the final serial number is sent to the master console. Therefore, the maser console identifies the number of slave consoles and can assign station number for the slave consoles.

Abstract: A compensation method for cold junction of temperature controlling console is used to compensate the temperature difference of cold junctions when a plurality of temperature controlling consoles are connected in series, where one temperature controlling console is master temperature controlling console and others are slave temperature controlling consoles. Each of the consoles has a serial input end, a serial output end and a master/slave communication end, where the serial output end of one slave console is connected to the serial input end of next slave console to form serial connection. The master/slave communication ends of all consoles are connected parallel. When the master temperature controlling console at end of the series sends a communication protocol data to all slave consoles, the slave consoles set their communication protocol to judge the positions thereof and then set the temperature compensation according to their position and their built-in program for cold junctions.

Abstract: A liposome including a neutral lipid membrane, a positively charged polymer, and a surface active polymer is provided. The neutral lipid membrane is formed as a hollow sphere, the positively charged polymer is dispersed on the neutral lipid membrane by non-covalent bonding, and the surface active polymer is dispersed on the neutral lipid membrane by non-covalent bonding. The liposome can stably adsorb various amounts of biomaterials by non-covalent bonding.

Abstract: A channel-type mesoporous material with an elliptical pore section has a 2D-rectangular pore arrangement. Besides, the channel-type mesoporous material includes silica and has a unit cell ratio a/b satisfying the inequality of ?{square root over (3)}<a/b?2.85. The synthesis procedure can be easily applied to prepare functional mesoporous silica materials, and examples given in this application are the syntheses of cyanoethyl-functionalized and mercaptopropyl-functionalized mesoporous materials with a c2mm symmetry. The mesoporous materials discussed herein have great potential for various advanced applications in the fields of catalysis, selective adsorption, controlled drug delivery and release, and many of other applications.

Abstract: A method of preparing channel-type mesoporous material with an elliptical pore section is described. An alkaline solution containing two surfactants different in the electronic properties of their hydrophilic groups is prepared. A silica precursor is added to form a stack of rod-like micelles each having an elliptical section with the silica precursor between the rod-like micelles. The silica precursor is reacted into a silica framework. The rod-like micelles are removed from the silica framework.

Abstract: A base part for a shower stall or a kitchen includes a floor with a peripheral side extending from a top thereof and the peripheral side includes an installation portion which includes an installation side and a fixing side. The installation side has a flat and horizontal top surface and a groove is defined in the flat and horizontal top surface of the installation side such that wall such as glass wall is engaged. The fixing side is connected to a wall. The floor includes protrusions extending from a top surface thereof so as to form a non-slip surface. A drain hole is defined through the floor when necessary.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display module includes a backlight unit having a light exiting surface, a first polarizing layer disposed on the light exiting surface of the backlight unit, a liquid crystal cell disposed on one side of the first polarizing layer opposite to the backlight unit, a protective glass panel disposed on one side of the liquid crystal cell opposite to the first polarizing layer and cooperating with the liquid crystal cell to define a heat-dissipating space therebetween, and a second polarizing layer disposed on one side of the protective glass panel opposite to the liquid crystal cell.

Abstract: A method automatically sets initially-estimated rotational frequency for a motor frequency measuring system based on pulse signals output from an encoder. Initially, a counter is reset to zero, and a count threshold and an initially-estimated rotational frequency are set. The possible motor frequencies are divided into multiple frequency ranges with specific starting frequencies. A pulse width threshold is set according to the initially-estimated rotational frequency. A new motor frequency is calculated by the count threshold and a corresponding elapsed time. The initially-estimated rotational frequency is set to be a frequency in a frequency range higher than the new motor frequency. Therefore, the initially-estimated rotational frequency can be adaptively set according to an updated frequency measurement. Moreover, the count threshold can be monotonously increased with the updated frequency measurement to enhance measurement accuracy.

Abstract: A Quick Search User Interface (UI) comprises a search entry field for inputting characters, e.g. search terms. The Quick Search UI further comprises icons that are graphical representations of applications. The Quick Search UI subsequently launches an operating system and passes the user action to the operating system. The operating system uses this information to generate search results comprising websites, program files, videos, etc. Alternatively, the operating system launches the application(s) selected by the user. Icons displayed on the user interface are ordered, for example, according to a company's willingness to pay more money for a more prominent spot or according to user preferences. The Quick Search UI can be customized using skins with themes, such as musicians, geographic locations, and/or products. The icons can be displayed according to which application provider pays the highest premium, or according to user preference.

Abstract: A sectional rack for storage includes glass plates and straight rods to form a multilayer and hollow sectional rack. Each glass plate includes a conical base separately on upper and lower ends of edges and corners of the glass plate, and a flat bottom surface of each base includes two lateral indents, a recession between two lateral indents for clamping two transversal edge frames and the glass plates, and a hollow bolt installed into a recession between two bases for tightly fixing the two bases. The straight rod is passed into the recession of the base and screwed and fixed by a long bolt. The transversal edge frame of each glass plate stops objects from rolling and moving, so as to achieve the effects of changing the traditional way of assembling a sectional rack, enhancing the stability of the assembly, and preventing objects from falling out from the rack.

Abstract: A method for measuring the readability of a screen under sunshine is disclosed. In this method, a first set of basic data of a screen module to be tested under dark room conditions is measured. Next, a second set of basic data of the screen module under simulated sunshine conditions is measured. A first screen readability interval data and a second screen readability interval data are then obtained according to the first set of basic data and the second set of basic data. Finally, the first screen readability interval data and the second screen readability interval data are used to determine whether or not the screen module can be clearly read under sunshine. These readability interval data can be used as a basis for leave-factory quality inspection of screens.

Abstract: A slide door assembly includes a U-shaped rail box which includes two support plates in a first space so that a roller unit on a slidable door is movably on the support plates. A fixed door has one end engaged with a second space in the rail box and the slidable door is slidable relative to the fixed door. An adjustable part is mounted to one end of the rail box and includes at least one elongate slot, at least one fastening member extends through the at least one elongate slot and is fixed to the rail box so that the adjustable part is movable by releasing the at least one fastening member to fit the distance between two walls.

Abstract: A phone appliance and method of use are provided where the phone appliance can be used to make VoIP communications calls. In a preferred embodiment, the phone appliance includes an RF connection for connecting to a computer or other computing device for facilitating the placement of the VoIP communications calls. The phone appliance further includes a display or portal for depicting advertisements provided by various advertisers. The advertisements provided can be used to defray all or part of the cost associated with making VoIP communications calls. The portal can also be used to communicate with businesses for ordering products, such as ordering a pizza, and to perform various services, such as purchasing stocks. In an exemplary system, the phone appliance is used to transmit to a control center information related to the user of the phone appliance, such as interests and buying habits, and queries for receiving additional information for various advertised products and services.

Abstract: A glass door hinge structure includes a hinge body, a hinge cover, an axial bolt and a fixing base. After a glass door is installed between a hinge body and a hinge cover and the fixing base is fixed on the ground, both edges of the glass door can be adjusted to an angle to provide a smooth and neat glass door by turning two long screw bolts of an extending body installed adjacent to a hole base on the fixing base. With such connection of the long screw bolts to the extending body, the screw thread will not be damaged easily. With the resilience provided by the long spring coil installed in both edges of the through hole that is disposed transversally in the protrusion of the hinge body, the life expectancy can be extended and the two glass doors can resume their closing position quickly.
