    Abstract: Disclosed embodiments are related to configuring and/or provisioning user equipment (UE) for Multicast-Broadcast Service (MBS). The present disclosure provides embodiments to allow a Fifth Generation System (5GS) to configure the MBS sessions based on Quality of Service (QoS) conditions of the receptions of MBS session of the UEs (subscribers). As such, the 5GS is able to provide differentiated QoS flows in the MBS session to UEs, which may have different service subscription in the 5GS and user subscriptions for MBS applications. The memory interface to send or receive, to or from a memory device, an application identifier (ID) value, and a temporary group based service ID (TGSID) value. The processor to process a service request from an access and mobility management function (AMF). The service request includes the application ID value and the TGSID value associated with a groupcast service. In response to the service request, the processor enables groupcast service at one or more associated access stratum network entities for forwarding groupcast internet protocol (IP) packets.

The AF subscribes to a registration-state notification event. A report is sent to the AF from the PCF or NEF. The report indicates a current registration state of a UE and is triggered when the registration state of the UE changes. The report may be sent with or without PDU session information, the former of which may be based on a determination by the AMF or the SMF. Traffic steering is enforced by the MAMS among multiple IP sessions coordinated via a single or a multiple PDU sessions in the 3GPP network.

The UE may determine, based on the random sequence of bits, a shuffling array for shuffling of coded bits. The UE may generate the coded bits, and may shuffle the coded bits in accordance with the shuffling array.

In one embodiment, an apparatus of a control plane device configured to operate within an evolved packet network core identifies a first service flow event trigger associated with a first packet data unit (PDU) session and processes a path reselection for a first PDU session in response to the first service flow event trigger, wherein the path reselection determines a new gateway for the first PDU session resulting from the path reselection. Transmission of a change notification to an application server controller associated with the first PDU session is initiated in response to the path reselection. Transmission of a routing update to the new gateway in response to the path reselection is also initiated. In various embodiments, the trigger may be a mobility event, a load balancing event, or operations in association with an application server controller.

    Abstract: An SDN architecture, for a cellular communications system, is described herein that includes a Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning framework to provision and manage traffic flows in the cellular communications system. The described architecture separates the control plane and the user plane for the transport of the user plane traffic. Network entities in the SDN architecture, such as a network controller, can detect and react to changes in network state (e.g., load conditions) to route or reroute traffic flows in the network. QoS and routing parameters may be determined for the network traffic on a per-flow basis, even when multiple flows are associated with a single service request.
