  • Patent number: 12282364
Abstract: A computing device includes a hinge rotatably coupling a first leaf including a touch display and a second leaf. A hinge angle sensor measures a hinge angle between the first leaf and the second leaf. An inertial measurement unit measures an orientation of one or both of the leaves. A first touch heat map is received from the touch display. Based on the touch heat map, hinge angle, and orientation, a posture probability is generated indicating a likelihood that the first touch display is in a candidate display posture, and an active probability is generated indicating a likelihood that the first touch display is an active display. One or more display characteristics of the first touch display are adjusted based on the posture probability and the active probability.

  • Publication number: 20250086398
Abstract: Methods, computer systems, computer-storage media, and graphical user interfaces are provided for efficiently generating and using intent taxonomies. In embodiments, training data, including data requests for information, is obtained. Thereafter, a model prompt to be input into a large language model is generated. The model prompt includes an instruction to generate an intent taxonomy, an indication of the training data to use for generating the intent taxonomy, and a taxonomy attribute desired to be used as criteria to generate a quality intent taxonomy. An intent taxonomy that includes user intent classes is obtained as output from the large language model. The intent taxonomy is analyzed to determine whether the intent taxonomy is valid. When the intent taxonomy is determined as valid, the intent taxonomy is provided for use in identifying user intent, and when the intent taxonomy is determined as invalid, the intent taxonomy is refined.

  • Publication number: 20250050116
Abstract: A programming algorithm is disclosed to efficiently select stimulation parameters for a patient having a Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) implant. The algorithm preferably first determines an optimal longitudinal position (Lopt) and amplitude (Iopt1) for stimulation along the lead. This occurs by the algorithm efficiently suggested various values for L and I at which stimulation can be tried on the patient and scored. Once Lopt is determined, the algorithm can also determine an optimal rotational angle (?opt) and amplitude (Iopt2) for stimulation around the lead at the optimized longitudinal position Lopt. This also occurs by the algorithm efficiently suggesting various values for ? and I at which stimulation can be tried on the patient and scored. Despite suggesting next L,I or ?,I values to test, the algorithm allows flexibility to allow a user to test any desired stimulation parameters beyond those suggested.

  • Publication number: 20250041612
Abstract: Implantable medical devices (IMD) such as those used in Deep Brain Stimulation application are commonly replaced when the device's useful life expires. At the time of replacement, the electrodes that were connected to the initial IMD are typically reused with the replacement IMD. It is desirable for the replacement IMD to utilize the stimulation parameters that were being utilized to provide stimulation in the initial IMD, but it is important that the electrodes be connected to the replacement IMD in a similar manner as they were connected to the initial IMD if stimulation parameters are reused. A connected electrode profile that includes measurements of electrical parameters associated with the electrodes can be generated in the initial IMD and the replacement IMD, and the profiles can be compared to determine whether the electrodes are connected in a similar manner in the replacement IMD as they were in the initial IMD.

  • Publication number: 20250025701
Abstract: Techniques for pairing an external device such as a clinician programmer (CP) to an implantable medical device (IMD) are disclosed, which involve use of a remote controller (RC) paired to the IMD. The RC is placed into a CP pairing mode, which acts differently depending on the type of IMD paired to the RC. If the IMD is RF based, the CP pairing mode places the IMD in a pairing mode, thus allowing the CP to connect directly with the IMD via a RF telemetry protocol. If the IMD is magnetic-induction based, the CP pairing mode causes the RC to advertise its presence to the CP, allowing the CP to connect to the RC via the RF telemetry protocol. Because the RC is also paired with the IMD via a magnetic induction telemetry protocol, the RC acts as a passthrough device to allow communications between the CP and the IMD.

  • Publication number: 20240366952
Abstract: Methods and systems for assisting a user to program stimulation parameters for an implantable pulse generator (IPG) are described. The IPG may be configured to provide electrical stimulation via a plurality of electrodes. The amount of stimulation current provided by each of the electrodes may be individually controlled. A graphical user interface (GUI) is provided for displaying an indication of the current to be delivered via each the electrodes. In some embodiments, the currents are expressed in terms of a total current to be delivered by the plurality of electrodes, and percentage values of that current to be delivered by each individual electrodes. If a user wishes to modify an amount of current amplitude to be delivered by a particular electrode, the described system is configured to update the total current and the percentage values for each of the electrodes based on the modification.

  • Patent number: 12101835
Abstract: An advertising algorithm is disclosed which operates in an Implantable Medical Device (IMD) to adjust an interval at which the IMD will transmit advertising data packets to an external device able to connect with the IMD. When a communication session between the IMD and an external device is terminated, the advertising algorithm will issue advertising data packets at a higher rate for a set duration. This will allow the external device to connect more quickly with the IMD in a next communication session. After the set duration, when it may be assumed that the external device is less likely to connect with the IMD, the algorithm reduces that rate at which advertising data packets are issued, which saves power in the IMD.

  • Publication number: 20240285955
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for use with Implantable Medical Devices (IMD) such as Implantable Stimulator Devices. The system includes a permanent magnet which can be used to reset the IMD (such as during an emergency) and to place the IMD in a pairing mode to establish communications with an external device. An external device paired to the IMD can be used to place the IMD in an MRI mode that renders the IMD safe during a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan. In the event that the external device is unavailable to cause the IMD to exit the MRI mode, the bar magnet can also be used in the MRI mode to pair the IMD with another external device.
