Abstract: A technique for achieving secure content distribution with increased copyright protection is disclosed. A content delivery apparatus is network connected to in-home/out-home content reproducible receiver devices, including digital TV sets, mobile phones or the like. The content delivery apparatus includes an optical disk drive, a built-in large capacity storage, a content list transmission unit responsive to receipt of a content list acquisition request from a content receiver device, for transmitting a list of contents recorded on an optical disk loaded in the optical drive and stored in the storage, and a content transmission unit responsive to a content and storage and for delivering it to the receiver. In cases where the content demanded is on the optical disk, if the receiver is currently outside an architectural structure with the apparatus installed therein, the content delivery to such receiver is prevented.

Abstract: A receiver to receive 2D and 3D content from a content distributor, including a content list obtaining unit obtaining a list screen of content receivable from the content distributor, a content obtaining unit obtaining 2D or 3D content from the content distributor, a display unit displaying the list screen and reproduced screen of the content on an external or built-in monitor, and a function determining unit determining a function for viewing/listening to 3D and 2D content, wherein the content list obtaining unit determines if 3D content is visible/listenable and obtains a content list of only 2D content or both 2D and 3D content, in accordance with a result of determination, from the content distributor, and the display unit displays the content list obtained through the content list obtaining unit, thereby enabling the receiver of content to receive, memorize and/or output outside the content, being distributed from various networks.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a content receiving apparatus capable of receiving, storing, and externally exporting content distributed from various networks. A receiving apparatus for receiving a digital signal in which a 3D video program and a 2D video program are mixedly present, includes a program selection unit configured to display and select a received program list; and a function determination unit configured to determine a function of viewing the 3D video program and 2D video program included in the receiving apparatus, wherein the program selection unit displays a viewable program list of the receiving apparatus according to a determination result of the function determination unit at the time of displaying the received program list.

Abstract: In a content transmitting method in a content transmitting apparatus, wherein the content transmitting apparatus adds copy control information for indicating to execute a recoding control with either one of “copy can be made only one (1) generation” or “number of times of copying is limited”, on number-limited copy target content, when distributing the number-limited copy target content, which can be copied within a region of limited number of pieces.

Abstract: A content transmitter apparatus is provided which decides whether to permit a content receiver apparatus at a content transmission destination to retransmit content to another content receiver apparatus located inside a house and transmits to the content receiver apparatus the content along with an identifier indicating a permission or prohibition of the content retransmission. A content receiver apparatus is also provided which, when it receives encrypted content from the content transmitter apparatus, checks an identifier received together with the content in executing the content retransmission to another content receiver apparatus located outside the house. If the identifier is found to permit the content retransmission, the content receiver apparatus encrypts and retransmits the content to the outside-house content receiver apparatus. If the identifier is found to not permit the content retransmission, the content receiver apparatus does not retransmit the content to the outside of the house.

Abstract: For improving operability by reducing time for backup of video/audio files through a network, and also for achieving to shorten processing time, as well as, to lower a capacity of a recording medium, by inhibiting unnecessary backup, a file transmission system comprises a file list obtaining means for obtaining a list of files, which are stored in a server, a file transmission controller means for controlling file transmission, a file transmission requesting means for requesting a file transmission to the server, a file receiver means for receiving the file transmitted form the server, and a client file storage means for storing the files therein, wherein control is made on the file transmission requesting means, so that it request a transmission of file(s), excepting the file(s), which is/are stored in the client file storage mean, to the server, upon basis of the list.

Abstract: In a system having two or more gateway apparatuses connected to both first and second networks having mutually different address systems, a gateway apparatus is provided with a translation table for associating IP addresses with node IDs. The gateway apparatus inquires other gateway apparatuses whether other gateway apparatuses are administering the same address as an IP address generated for a newly added device. If there is another gateway apparatus that is administering the same address, the IP address is prevented from being registered in the translation table.

Abstract: Disclosed are a content transmission apparatus and a content reception apparatus so constructed as to mutually authenticate before transmitting content. In authentication, the time period from the transmission of an authentication request or of authentication response to the arrival of a reception confirmation is measured; only when the measured value does not exceed a certain maximum value, encrypted content is transmitted and address information and device information specific to the apparatus are registered. For the next content transmission, there is no need of time measurement when transmitting the encrypted content. The time measurement is implemented at a suitable timing for the system to dynamically manage the registered information so as to be suitable for the current network configuration.
