Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing formed with at least one row of terminal-receiving cavities and a plurality of terminals. Each of the terminals has a horizontal terminal part which is received in a corresponding one of the cavities and a vertical terminal part which is perpendicular to the horizontal terminal part. The housing has a rear wall which is formed with a horizontally extending supporting rib that is located below the cavities and that has a free end. The vertical terminal parts of the terminals abut against the free end of the supporting ribs so as to ensure the vertical terminal parts of the terminals to be coplanar. The ribs include outer slot portions that receive vertical terminal parts and inner slot portions that receive contact protrusions.

Abstract: A conductive terminal pin for a zero-insert force integrated circuit socket assembly has an upper part with a back portion and a curved contact portion, and a lower part that serves as a mounting leg. The contact portion includes a pair of elongated contact arms that are connected spacedly to a bottom edge of the back portion. Each of the contact arms has a first segment that extends substantially horizontally from the back portion, a second segment that extends upwardly from a distal end of the first segment, and a third segment that extends substantially horizontally from a distal end of the second segment toward the back portion. The contact arms define therebetween a pin receiving channel with a wider insert portion that extends between a portion of the third segments of the contact arms adjacent to the second segments, and a narrower retaining portion that extends between a portion of the third segments of the contact arms adjacent to the back portion.

Abstract: An edge board connector includes a housing and two terminal pins each of which is formed from an elongated sheet metal and each of which has a back section and a curved movable section that are integrally formed with each other end to end. Each of the back sections abuts against the inner surface of a side wall of the housing and has an intermediate portion which is split to form a mounting leg that extends out from the housing. Each of the movable sections has a positioning part abutting against the middle wall unit of the housing, and a curved acting part having an intermediate portion which is split to form an elongated and arched clamping sheet that has two ends integrally formed with the remaining portion of the acting part and that extends into the card chamber in the housing at a middle portion thereof. The curved distal end portion of each of the acting parts abuts against the inner surface of the side wall of the housing so as to position the pins in the housing.
