Abstract: Interaction of a user with external data sources related to the research and analysis of terms and content for improved indexing by search engines may be provided. One or more elements of the content may be used to return an analysis of those elements to the user within the experience of a word processing application environment. Systems and methods also may be provided for determining the relative competition of a term or terms to quantitatively derive the number of pages within a corpus that may be actively engaged to improve the indexing of the pages by information retrieval systems, such as search engines. Systems and methods may be further provided for determining the relative ranking of a term or terms based on the frequency and placement of the term or terms within a structured page.

Abstract: A vehicle status awareness system includes one or more devices which are plugged into a cigarette lighter socket for a vehicle to receive power and are thereby fixed in position relative to the vehicle. The devices include movement sensors which indicate changes in movement of the vehicle, a position sensor which indicates a position of the vehicle, a communications device to send and receive data to and from a remote device, and a control unit. The control unit is programmed to receive and store program parameters, determine a location of the vehicle, determine a movement status of the vehicle based on a plurality of status criteria further comprising accident threshold settings, and transmit one or more of the program parameters, vehicle location, and movement status to the remote device. Where multiple devices are included, each device may have an RF transceiver or equivalent for bidirectional communications with the other device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for treating a patient that has undergone a bariatric surgical procedure, to promote weight loss in the patient. The systems and methods can involve positioning a gastrointestinal bypass sleeve within a portion of the altered GI anatomy to create or restore a restriction, and/or create a malabsorptive effect via a gastric and partial intestinal bypass. The bypass sleeve can include a proximal attachment element for attaching the proximal end of the sleeve in a penetrating or non-penetrating manner at the gastroesophageal junction, stomach, neo-stomach, or other locations. The bypass can be placed during the same operative session as the bariatric surgical procedure, or alternatively at a later date.

Abstract: The present invention includes a hypothermia protection garment including a reversibly closable upper body portion for substantially covering the upper body of an individual, the upper body portion including a torso portion capable of substantially covering the torso of the individual, two sleeve portions capable of substantially covering the arms and optionally the hands of the individual and a hood portion capable of substantially covering the head of an individual, the hood portion includes a face aperture or opening for exposing a portion of the face of the individual. The upper body portion has a heat reflective inner surface and a heat positioning structure for positioning a dry active heating means. The garment may also include one or more medical access apertures capable of exposing a region of the individual for the application of a medical device or a medical procedure without substantial removal of the garment.
