Patent number: 10701481Abstract: A device, system, and method for modeling microphones and a microphone sound-isolation baffle that can be used with microphone modeling. The microphone modeling device, system, and method, can account for the effects of a microphone modeled with a microphone sound-isolation baffle and reduce unwanted audio coloration. The microphone model can work with single-capsule and dual-capsule microphones with the dual-capsule modeling able to achieve greater off-axis rejection and reduced off-axis coloration. The microphone modeling microphone sound-isolation baffle can attach to a specific reference microphone used for microphone modeling. The microphone sound-isolation baffle can be designed so the filter only attaches at a predetermined distance and at a predetermined rotational angle with respect to the microphone.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2018Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: Townsend Labs IncInventors: Chris Townsend, Heather Townsend

Patent number: 8666090Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method with independent adjustment of on and off-axis tonality and a system and method for modeling an idealized off-axis polar response of a directional microphone. The system can include two or more microphone capsules arranged in close proximity within a single housing and a filtering algorithm applied to the output of each microphone capsule that results in a signal that has a predominantly idealized on and off-axis user selectable polar pattern responses and user selectable microphone modeling which models the on-axis frequency response of a physical or virtual microphone. Optionally, the system and method can compensate for the on and off-axis polar response changes due to low-frequency proximity-effect.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2013Date of Patent: March 4, 2014Assignee: Full Code Audio LLCInventor: Chris Townsend

Patent number: 8523933Abstract: An endovascular introducer which has a handle assembly, a stent graft deployment device and a stent graft retained on the stent graft deployment device. The handle assembly has a first part and a second part, the second part to be moved relative to the first part. The first part has a fixed portion to be gripped and held by a user and a rotating portion to be rotated. A one way clutch arrangement transfer rotation to co-acting first screw threads so that relative longitudinal motion between the first part and the second part occurs. The deployment device has a pusher assembly and a sheath to cover the stent graft on the pusher assembly. The sheath is connected to the second part so that rotation of the rotating portion causes retraction of the sheath.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2012Date of Patent: September 3, 2013Assignee: Cook Medical Technologies LLCInventors: Samih Nabulsi, Swee Choong Ng, Ben Cramp, Neil Davidson, Craig Mounsey, Cambell Smyth, Chris Townsend

Patent number: 8414636Abstract: A stent graft introducer has stent graft releasably retained onto a deployment catheter and a sheath encloses the stent graft. A handle assembly has a handle, a first slide and a second slide. The first slide retracts within the second slide and the second slide retracts within the handle. An actuation arrangement comprises a first longitudinal gear rack on the first slide, a second longitudinal gear rack on the second slide and a ratchet lever assembly on the handle. Actuation of the ratchet lever assembly causes the second slide to fully retract into the handle at which time the ratchet lever assembly engages the first gear rack through an aperture in the second rack and continued actuation causes retraction of the first slide thereby retracting the sheath from the pusher to expose the stent graft.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2012Date of Patent: April 9, 2013Assignee: Cook Medical Technologies LLCInventors: Samih Nabulsi, Swee Choong Ng, Ben Cramp, Neil Davidson, Craig Mounsey, Cambell Smyth, Chris Townsend

Patent number: 6606388Abstract: A technique for enhancing audio signals generated from compressed digital audio files is described. The technique uses a Bass Maximizer module, a Harmonic Exciter module and a Quasi Stereo module. The Bass Exciter module enhances the intensity, depth and punch of the bass audio content by creating harmonic sequences from low frequency components contained in the original input signal. The Harmonic Exciter module adds to the treble audio content of the original input signal by generating harmonic series from the high frequency components contained in the input signal. The Quasi Stereo Module creates a stereo image of the enhanced input signal by adding and subtracting delayed and filtered versions of the enhanced input signal with itself to create left and right channeled stereo-like outputs. The technique provides a useful tool to regenerate from an audio signal more pleasant and joyful sounds.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2000Date of Patent: August 12, 2003Assignee: Arboretum Systems, Inc.Inventors: Chris Townsend, Aram Lindahl
