  • Patent number: 7953166
Abstract: A method of performing resource allocation in OFDM transmission is disclosed. The method includes performing a partitioning of the OFDM spectrum into a number of predefined regions (Rij, R?ij) of sub-carriers (SCi) for a number of OFDM transmission cells, assigning at least one respective transmission-related characteristic to the regions of sub-carriers, and allocating the resources for communication with at least one user equipment in at least one region of sub-carriers based on the partitioning and dependent on the characteristic assigned to the regions of sub-carriers. This allows fast resource allocation with low signaling effort, as well as fast adjustment to changing system settings or changing systems conditions, while providing a possible alternative to costly handover procedures.

  • Patent number: 7660624
Abstract: In a method and apparatus to detect position changes of an implant x-ray detectable markers are arranged in the environment of the implant, and 2D x-ray exposures are obtained at temporal intervals of a region containing the implant in which a distribution of the markers as well as of marked points of the implant are visible in each 2D x-ray exposure. A first of the 2D x-ray exposures is obtained at a first point in time from one projection direction, and a second of the 2D x-ray exposures is obtained at a second point in time from another projection direction. The distribution of the markers and marked points is determined in the first and second 2D x-ray exposure by an evaluation device, and from the distributions a degree of probability is calculated that the distribution of the first 2D x-ray exposure and the distribution of the second 2D x-ray exposure are projections of the same three-dimensional distribution of markers and marked points.

  • Publication number: 20090012387
Abstract: The invention provides a novel way of handling electric or electromagnetic signals during magnetic resonance (MR) measurements. Non-MR data signals such as EPH signals (e.g. EEG, ECG, blood pressure, respiration) or subject responses (e.g. keystrokes, joystick movements) originating in the MR suite is recorded while performing magnetic resonance imaging or spectroscopy. Relatively simple, possibly battery driven hardware is used to transform the non-MR signals into radio waves detectable by the MR apparatus. The electrical signals are in this way encoded as artifacts appearing in the MR images or spectra outside the region of interest, and the encoded signals can subsequently be reconstructed from the signal recorded by the scanner If oversampling is employed, artifacts can be avoided altogether. The method inherently provides superior synchronisation between the sampling of non-MR data signals and the MR sequence.

  • Publication number: 20080259909
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for processing Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) INVITE messages that include an early media capability indicator. The early media capability indicator provides information regarding the early media handling capabilities of the device originating the message, and is used by various network nodes that process the INVITE message to determine if, and under what circumstances, early media sessions may be established with the originating communication device. In an exemplary method, a SIP INVITE message is received from a SIP User Agent Client for a first communication device, the SIP INVITE message comprising an early media capability indicator. The exemplary method further comprises forwarding the SIP INVITE message to one or more remote communication devices, and selectively allowing one or more media sessions between the first communication device and the one or more remote communication devices, based on the early media capability indicator.
